  1. First the whores now the Turkeys the chances of getting a gobble in East Anglia are quite remote………………
  2. just looks like you've been standing in a cold, wet ditch too long... waiting for a mink no doubt . Give those piggies a trim and a slap a bit of perfumed talc on and you'll be able to wear those strappy high heels again mate.
  3. they look pretty handy... don't know where you'd get one from though
  4. Good rifle Love mine to bits. Go for the best quality you can afford mate... a top-end second hand scope was my original plan (leupold 4-20 vari III) for £300 but it fell through and i ended up with a bloody AGS 4-16 ''swat'' (yeah right flys maybe) ... does the job but recticule thickness is quite fat on full mag at long range. Opimax 4-16 / 4-20 are pretty good but i know what you mean... almost too much choice. This link is ok: http://www.shooters-uk.co.uk/optics.htm Best of luch choosing.
  5. .. ITS A BEAUTY Better roll those sleeves up and get them bristles off. :moil:
  6. Just been going back through a few old threads on bodygrips and found one where P&G mentioned a DVD he was putting together on trapping called 'Country Pursuits'. :tongue4: Did this happen and if it did does anyone have a copy for sale. ... that and the G.W Waters book on snaring which although mentioned a lot seems to be a rare a hens teeth and locked away with the house deeds and family silver.
  7. :welcomeani: bud... do you do much spearfishing down there... done a bit on fuertenventura and it was great!
  8. Bit late on this thread I put the head, feet and pelt of a roe hind in the brown 'organic waste' recycling bin out the front of the house and they took it no problem. I expect someone had a shock though
  9. Hey Martin and Barky... im from Brizzel too. I had a Ruger 10/22 Volquartzen for a couple of years... quality rifle , accurate out to 100 yrds, cheep ammo so a pretty good choice... especially for night shooting. You may find they don't cycle the subsonic rounds too well and may need tuning to sort this out but is a cheap job. The only bone of contention i had was the magazine . I've now got a Anchutz thumbhole .17 HMR... which i have to say is the dogs balls and soooo accurate. There is still a bit of a crack even with a SAK mod on the end but the trajectory is pretty much table t
  10. Great Its damn good stuff isn't it Like i say i ate a boat loat (two whole fillets worth) in a day and it had the same effect as a whole packet of immodium... rabbit pellets spring to mind I needed pliers to twits the sticks out Edited to say the pliers were needed to get the sticks out of the Jerky... before consumption.
  11. Its been a while since i've made my own nets but i got the bug again whilst patching up my longnet the other day. I've had the idea of make some purse nets for my godfather as a belated thank you for shooting trip and also knock some up some as a gift for some mates (ones had a kid and one just married... figure they'll both be getting out a bit more ) I've still got a spool and a half and 30 rings from the ol' days to keep me going but... as i'm bored off my tits... i thought i'd get the ball rolling. Just found some on the net advertised as 500gm spool for £8.50 and rings at 85p fo
  12. I had a jet balck one bolt whilst ferreting... i grabbed it and nearly shit myself as i mistook it for a mink Never seen one since... almost feel guilty... almost
  13. I'd love to mate but i'm in Brizzel ... it looks like a little cracker.
  14. "Keep on hunting fellas, what ever your quarry, and keep those threads comming, better to read about what quarry is getting stiffed rather than what working ability is getting killed off by the money grabbing puppy peddlars. Couldn't agree more just look at the state of the bull X whittet X lurcher X russel X deerhound X lassie cross's they are churning out now-a-days.
  15. For how many? 20 in a box mate. with the reloading bit... you'd need to put a few shots through it to make them any cheeper... the dyes, powder, brass, heads & primers etc but (after a bit of experimentation) you will often end up with a more consistent and accurate round. You will also have a lot more bullet choice for different quarry... not to mention the warm, smug satisfaction of a one shot drop with your own product.
  16. why not get a poncho loads of ex army ones about lot more shelter and can double up as a hide pm me if you fancy one im sure ive got one or two somewhere, there the dpm sheet not the type you stick over your head Cheers guys ... i've got a hoochie / poncho thing but its an ass in some places when you can't get a guy rope up and when there's a bit of wind... just like the extra flexibility with a swag. I suppose i could make my own out of a canvas poncho i have rather get something made for the job though.
  17. Tents are for pussy's :showoff: ... i'm looking for a Australian style swag bag for overnight spring / summer / autumn hunting and spreafishing trips ... something like this: Will pay extra if it comes with a chick like the one in the pic Would like to hear if anyone knows where i can get one of if they have one (green) for sale...
  18. What i was getting at is what chance do the terrier, lurcher and hunting folks have when lads are trundling round at night wiping out whole areas of foxes. i don,t disagree that we need a few trimming up now and again and do plenty of lamping myself but i do think everybody deserves their sport. you can hunt or dig one dozens of times but you can only kill em once jmho. Look... sorry for ranting earlier. I agree everyone deserves their sport but that does not mean we need to give other methods a hard time . Everyone has their own methods and a lot of guys like (and use) all of them.
  19. Dave... i dont' have my own dogs but i still spend a small fortune getting to london and back to support hunting with dogs. Having a good laugh by running one is not always the point and im sure a lot of lads do both. When you need to control numbers to satisfy the landowner (and maybe retain your permission) lamping which i think you are simplifying to be a piece of piss, is a very EFFECTIVE method of CONTROL. It aint all done for shits and giggles. With respect to dogs and guns.
  20. I'm just pasting a reply from 'a few foxys'...people having to justify stuff all the time is getting really tedious. I'm replacing stellas name with yours though Vinnie as i think you baltently fit the bill. No this shit again ... change the f*****g record 'VINNIE'. Why the protectionist 'more for me and my pooch' attitude... AGAIN ? Yeah running dogs is a laugh but its NOT THEY ONLY f*****g METHOD!! The lads did a good job covering and covered a large and obviously over-populated area by the sounds of it. Do you know what the land is like? do you know the land owner or which methods t
  21. Customer in a Chinese restaurant "this chicken is rubbery" Chinese waiter "ohh, fank yoo verry much". As for eating a mixy... no thanks.
  22. No this shit again ... change the f*****g record 'stella'. Why the protectionist 'more for me and my pooch' attitude... AGAIN ? Yeah running dogs is a laugh but its NOT THEY ONLY f*****g METHOD!! The lads did a good job covering and covered a large and obviously over-populated area by the sounds of it. Do you know what the land is like? do you know the land owner or which methods they requested (given the season). No... so why come on and start spouting negativity??? Why can't you just be positive instead of finding something to bitch about. Wind your bloody neck in! Lads... good shit
