  1. No.. Stabs.. thats when i got mine, same cal. Cost a fortune and i had to go on a waiting list as they were so popular. I promptly lost the rear site so had to put a telescopic on.. i also shot myself in the leg (just missing my balls) after wearing it in my belt.
  2. Good post Foxy . I think this thread has been debated quite well but your comments certainly need to be born in mind to stop future ones decending into chaos like some earlier threads.. which will remain nameless
  3. Good crack so then... just how many did you drink exactly

    license

I got a Game License went i went grouse shooting two years ago and still had it in with my certificate when the Firearms officer came round to check my security after i moved house. He laughed when he saw it and said he hadn't seen one for donkey's years and where did i get it from! Dog licenses... like most government initiatives will just be an unworkable pain to the ass to the genuine chaps and be totally ignored by the wankers its supposed to control... who will get away with it. Christ i'm getting cynical, soapbox jumping fecker :guitar2:
  5. Sorry to hear that bud, all the best.
  6. I agree, don't stop posting because some people disagree and feel the need to tell you about it. It would be a boring old site if this happened.
  7. Thats what i thought you meant mate. . i wasn't having a pop. They are a good laugh for plinking and will certainly be good for dispatching stuff like corvoids in larson traps etc if you are vested interest in keeping your fingers
  8. I have one of them and i use for dispatching vermin (larson ect) and would say that, whilst they are good for plinking at cans and targets as for shooting animals at distance with them i can say that without question they are NOT UP FOR THE JOB. Not wishing to cause a scene but if a 12 ft.lb air rifle has an effective range of 30m... how a pistol with less than half that grunt going to three time that with enough wack and accuracy to kill... it ain't. Like i say they are great fun and this one looks to be in great condition .
  9. that'll learn him for hiding the eggs
  10. by-ek mate... i bet you don't go to the butcher very often
  11. I reccon when i eventually get to see the clip i'll probably agree with you there always someone who is over the top... strapped in, cammed up... with a bren gun Had any 'exotic' species round your neck of the woods recently (pigs / goats etc)
  12. At the risk of sounding like the know nothing chump that i am when it comes to dogs ... what is 'make' ( ) is the tan one... seriously considering getting one when i move back to the sticks. Bloody gorgeous dog
  13. I can't view the clip but if its what i think it is they do it in large parts on NZ as its the only way to control them. I've got a mate out there who does it a couple of months a year head shooting deer, pigs and goats with G3 for the food industry. Hopefully i'm going out there in October to help as an on-board dresser/skinner and hopefully get some shooting  . I agree that from a sporting aspect it seems a little harsh and ruthless but there is still a lost of fieldcratf in it with both finding the quarry, shooting accurately at a moving target (head shots to minimise
  14. I understand its a very smelly job... the kitchen certainly ain't the place if you know what i mean. I think you're quite right on it being desireable for some and a put off for others if you're talking about trophy quarry ie. Dominant bucks... antler rattling or a roaring tin will do the same sort of thing without the risk of spilling it in the car and having to have the window open for a year. For predator species like mink its more universally attractive  .
  15. Good stuff Moll... an opportunity taken full advantage of Leaving cubs is fine in theory if thats your bag (IMHO if an opportunity to take them out presents itself take it BEFORE they make a nusance of themselves ) but in practice and under those circumstances i think you did a great job. Glad the dogs all came away well... no doubt your quick thinking saved one of them getting a face full from a pissed & protective Vixen.
  16. I'd start by asking the local firearms officer what the requirements are up there . If you are applying for a rifle for the first time it could be a little tricky to go from zero to full bore rifle owner (with a variation for expanding ammo) without having someone experienced who can vouch and mentor for you. If you do then it will be a case of getting your own permission, passing the security inspection, being granted an FAC (probably with a conditional variation that you only use the weapon when accompanied by this chap) learning the ropes and then getting them to vouch for your safet
  17. As long as you pay enough to cover my RSPB and LACS subscription i'll keep my eyes open;)
  18. you the man Ditch.. They look well made enough last a fair old time as well!

    KIDS!

Congrats bud... get them on a rough patch of ground and they'll clean it up nicely for you Do you have any gastronomic plans for any of them
  20. How about giving the guy a break. We don't know the change in his personal circumstances so cut the holier than thou attitude
  21. As long as the tunnel is suitable for the size of your quarry but small enough to prevent not target species treading on it ie. Fox/Badger/Deer (and placed in such a place / manner to avoid smaller ones) and the trap movements are not restricted its pretty much common sense. I'm not saying your don't have any common sense... just that they can be so easy to make ie from taking advantage of natural tunnels to a bending a small sheet of wire mesh round your boot to the right width and height.
  22. I agree mate can't be addes to make a box though. I think with this method you have less chance of ruining the meat. will give it a crack some day though!
  23. I'd chase them up just to be on the safe side. Like people have said it depends on the area. It sucks really as they state the you MUST send it to them recorded delivery for a variation / renewal but they just chuck it in the normal mail and cross their fingers
  24. Nice bag of the little tinkers there The pics really help clarify techniques on trapping and will really help people trying this for the first time (or wanting to learn how to do things properly ) You only get complacent with those fenns once and the bitch will have you and that'll stop you wanking for a couple of weeks
