  1. whatever i can get mate! Best mate back home (sussex) was a keepers son so spent all my free time ferreting, flighting, trapping, decoying, rough shooting. Always keen to try some new. Desperatley trying to find some permission round here to stop me going sir-crazy. Its a bit of a treck at the moment!
  2. Bloody fantastic series. Hopefully this will make people who slag off hunting yet wear leather and eat meat realise what ignorant hypocrites they are. I think Hugh F-W has done a hell of a lot for pro-hunting cause. Watch it next week as he gets a load of kebab chowing townies pigeon and rabbit shooting!
  3. Nice stuff mate... they are (or al least were!) in pretty good nick, i shot a right mangey one two weeks ago. Mind you i see more sodding badgers than i do foxes at the moment... or rabbits come to that!
  4. Nice haul... and rifle... makes my HW77 look a little bit turd.
  5. I tend to start early but thats just me. I can't see it making too much diffrence, just make sure you don't stomp around or make too much noise and they should bolt ok... just make sure you're not laid up when it starts getting dark!
  6. .22 HW77 Carbine with a 4x32 on top. Had it for over 15 years... Nothing fancy but reliable and accutate.
  7. :welcomeani: ... i'm new too
  8. I prefer to use purse nets unless the bury is huge and some of the bolts are inaccessable ... then i put out a 25yrd stop net down the line and cross my fingers! Mind you most of my action is in woodland... using a longnet in open country sounds like a blast.
  9. Thats what dreams are made of! Great cartridge for deer as well!
  10. Before letting the little critters at em' have a quick look about to make sure there arn't any drainage covers or overflow channels near the bury as some lakes, especially man made ones, have them (saves a bit of head scratching on where the hell the ferret has got to!) Also make sure the bunny is clear of the hole before having a shot as i've seen a ferret caught in the pattern as he chased him out ... and that really will ruin the day... or strain a friendship if he's not yours. Go get em!
  11. Hi guys & gals First time posting here and looking forward to getting involved in the banter... I love anything to do with Hunting, Shooting and fishing. I'm a country boy now living in Bristol for the work and gradually getting the hang of humouring liberal, tree-hugging townies (some of whom think i'm Satan because of what i enjoy doing). Needless to say its nice to see from the forums that there are still 'normal' people around! Catch you all later Matt (LocalYokel)

    WARNING

Yikes! One of the culprits here . Totally unintentional... just a little sheepish. The problem is the site is so good anything i'm not sure about already seems to have been discussed!
