  1. And people wonder why council tax goes up above inflation... madness . A handful of .22 short ammo would have been a lot quicker and cheeper.
  2. Quality Congrats bud they look great... the bitch has her hands full there! Was she put to a dalmation or something
  3. Cheers lads. Its been happening with CCi gamepoints, TNT and Federal V-Max... it could just need a bit of breaking in as you say but i'm hoping its not something more sinister. This is the action but i'll take a pic of the breech tonight to highlight the sticking point thanks again
  4. First I would just like to say I'm no way a avid watcher of this crap Ditto... and in common sense terms of course it isn't racist... in media spin / political terms: its effigy burning demonstration worthy racist! As is anything other than that slagging off white tax payers.
  5. :welcomeani: to the mixer bud
  6. Hide the mags of Gung n' Ammo and Readers Wives. It will be quite relaxed i expect so don't worry. Questions may be effective range of weapon, ensuring you have a safe backstop, not shooting where you can't see, quarry id, house secutity (window locks, front door type and lock) but i doubt he'll bother. He'll just want to see that you're a sensible bloke... tidy up, get the kettle on and a pack of hob-nobs... jobs a goodun.
  7. Anyone finding any difficulties on the ammo feed on this action? For some reason when feeding a round from the magazine into the breech the round occasionally seems to catch on a lip just under the breech. The magazine is brand new and seats well and the rifle, although second hand, hasn't had more than a box or two through it from the previous owner (He cracked the stock slightly trying to fit sling studs and chopped it in for another new one. ) Any ideas guys? It only happens occasionally and mainly on the first round from the mag. Thanks
  8. Thats what i thought , glad Roger has got some good help... nothing like being on your feet all day after a few hip replacements.
  9. They are a b*****d those things... check this thread. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...=15994&hl=ticks
  10. Great info John b. My info pack from the environment agency hasn't arrived yet but i've got some trap ideas: Do you really need a license to throw pot for a few every now and again?... seems like a lot of bureaucratic nonsense and waste of time. .. unusual for a government body really...
  11. I got my 10/22 from SYS and the team were quality :thumbs-up: . Ask Roger about the simmons whitehall scopes... that's what he said the were very popular on that set up. Optimax (i had a Opti 16 @ £135 4-16-56) and AGS are also good for the money. You can get away with a airgun scope on a rimfire as there is next to no recoil although if you are spending £600 quid on that set up it would be a shame to stick a load of crap on top of it... maybe they have a quality second hand scope from a trade in?... Check this site for ideas... http://www.djc99.plus.com/optics.htm
  12. Spilt a pint of cream in the Mrs's car once and had to have the window open for about 6 months when driving it... even when it was raining.
  13. Nice stuff bud. Just need to put a rabbit in it now... nothing more satisfying that using your home made equipment.
  14. :welcomeani: bud... liking the clip. You'll fit right in!
  15. good stuff bud, you need to use good cuts of meat unless you have a strong jaw and teeth like a camel but it's great.
  16. http://wealth.mworld.com/m/m.w?lp=GetStory&id=235199701 This looks like its going to be pretty good. A load of sloathful urban heavies going to Nambia to live a cave man existance for 5 weeks to trim them down a bit. Going to have lots of trapping and foraging. Keep and eye out... I think its going to be on BBC 3.
  17. Have a look on www.guntrader.co.uk.
  18. You'll get better clarity and light gathering ability out of a fixed power scope with a large objective lense than variable one mate... Unless you are planning a serious amount of wedge.
  19. I made some nets out of thick hemp once and used these round rough stuff and that got knarled up and tangled just as much. You could rip them out of the stuff without breaking them mind you. Don't know whether it was the thicker hemp or what but the things twisted something awful when they got wet.
