  1. Watch for there flight lines about 1 hour before dark pigeons will roost in the same area but if you keep disturbing them by shooting they will move of to a different area round my way i have found they like the taller trees like sycamore and oak, magpies will hang around the same area especially if you have a dense hawthorn wood near by, dont over do it on a regular basis though as they soon click onto your presance and you cant get any where near them with out them letting the alarm call of.
  2. Get yourself to your local clay pigeon shooting club and blow a few hundred cartridges off on the angles you are struggling with, you will sharp notice the difference.
  3. 2 rabbits from 4 slips with my 10yr old dog anymore than that and he cant walk for a week.
  4. done it several times and its like magic the way the dents come back out.
  5. Thats a fine example of how a stuffed roe should look, im not realy into stuffed deer heads but i would deffinatly stick that one on my wall.
  6. I would of been going for 2 and 3 with one shot to save bullets
  7. Id hate to see how many you missed if you got that many... ..and i bet you where scratching all the way home.. ..good stuff.
  8. , i think Mark Brick caught it with kat single handed.. .
  9. ive been using Napier pellet lube for several years now and it does seem to help with the grouping, and aswell as that if they is any dust in the pellet tins it tends to stick to the pellet lube in the bottom of the tin.
  10. Go for a 12ltr 300bar cost me just short of 200 quid,it is still topping the gun up to 190bar after 2yr's without having to be filled back up yet,and i have put a lot of shots through the S410,i never let it drop below the 100bar mark so every time it is filled they is only roughly 90bar going into the rifle to top it up.
  11. Good shooting and good write up Timmy Mallet.. .
  12. When is the moth and caterpillar book coming out Starling.
  13. Trophy hunters don't leave the carcass complete with antlers by the side of the road. Poachers disturbed before the job was finished is my guess. Ric PMSL...poachers what did they use to bring it down a fooking lion..
  14. Well that makes it even easier as im sure out of a few hundred 5 shot groupings one or two of them would be worthy of an olympic gold medal, never mind a THL trophy .
  15. It deffinatly wont be easy with this uk weather unless you can gain access to a large indoor area, it is still possible outside though but im sure they could be a bit of cheating on the go with no one about to referee each perticular shooter. For instance i could shoot 100 pellets in 5 shot groups then all i would have to do is pick the best grouping out.. .
  16. I have shot the odd one in the past and for me it has got to be head/neck shot everytime, you are wasting your time going for heart and lung shots especially if you dont have a dog with you because they can still run on at a fare pace before they drop if the shot is not bang on or ricochets in the body, this time of the year the pheasants have not had chance to fatten up properly yet but by december time the cock birds can be in excess of 4lb in weight, and the breast on them can take some penatrating,on several occasions i have shot pheasants that have pellets healed up in the breast bone area
  17. Aslong as they is no wind on the chosen day i suspect the .177 boys could be victorious.
  18. Awsome stuff matey, she has been a cracking dog and she deserve's the retierment you are willing to give her.BUT a word of warning these old dog's dont like being left in while the younger generation get took out, ,screaming hab dabs always occur in this neck of the woods and i always end up letting the old fellow tag along, even though he dont nail anything his old brain is still pumping, and if something easy pops up it turns him back into a pupy again. Cheers M

Them D40's are not much better i know of 3 people who have had trouble with them,1st one was a farmer where i had permission he kept having clutch problems 3 times it went back to be repared in the space of a month he changed the vehicle for another model,2nd one is a lad i know who is a builder he tows a trailer with his D40 he has gone through 2 clutches and i dont think it has hit the 60k mark yet,3rd is a lad i know who does a bit of offroading he got stuck in a field one day and the back diff went.
  24. I had a AYA Yoeman some years back about 10yrs ago it was a OU multi choke with ejectors,i paid £370 for it,it started of ok for about half a season then the barrel change over mecanism stopped working and had to be done by hand with a button. So it went to a shop to be repared and it was fine for a bit then it started doing it again, then it started firing both barrels at the same time, the final straw for me was when it started going of on its own when the barrels where closed, ,i sold it for spares or repair and went for a berreta silver pigeon 2, i did not realise how crap the AYA was
