  1. Alrite everyone ive built the ferrets a new court and picked up loads more permission so i am after a couple more. After one or 2 preferably jills. In or around Reading area. Cheers
  2. Nice mate. Nice to see the old warrior with three legs out and about. How did he do that ?
  3. Keep them in shape but not highly conditioned. I think its good for there bodies to have a rest. ATB
  4. Nice one mate well done to the pup. They do catch some odd things when your just out and about. My bull/greyhounds first catch was a pigeon he had in the alleyway i taught him to ritrieve in ! Any pics of the pup mate ? ATB
  5. I know a feller whos into his greyhounds he got a one eyed ugly bugger that can catch a couple of rabbits on the lamp. Alot of people say they get injured but i think there good enough on the right ground. ATB
  6. Nice one mate pup looks strong. Its a shame theres so many jealous plebs on here. ATB
  7. Yeah mate considering was only out for bout hour and half its not too bad. ATB
  8. Very interesting read pualus cheers for that.
  9. I remember seeing somewhere that the ridge on there back is a form of spina bifida and the ones that were used to bring lions to bay dont have it. Shame really that breeders of these fine looking dogs PTS any that dont have this ridge. ATB
  10. Thats massive for a vixen mate the biggest dog fox we've had and wieghed was just over 20lb !
  11. As said practice as much as you can. Get yourself some ferrets and bolt them to the guns. Will give you plenty of chances. ATB
  12. If your ferrets are well handled and well accustomed to dogs there should be no problems. My ferret court is right oposite my dog kennels so the dogs and ferrets are well used to each other.
  13. Quality mate. Looks brilliant ground to give the dogs some runs. I just wish we had more numbers round here.atb
  14. Decided to pop out with the dog and ferrets and my lil brother for abit earlier as with it bieng fireworks weekend i dont think its gonna be much good on the lamp but ill pop out anyway. So got to my permission first one entered the ferret. Nothing happened so out with the box it was saying about 4 foot so we started digging. Could see my bro was getting bored so i gave him the ferret box and told him to take the dog over the next field with some open warrens. Anyway bout 15 mins later he came back happy as larry with a big grin and a bunny. He was well happy that the dog ritrieved it to him.

    Dog trainer

I know a couple of so called "proffesional dog trainers" one of them has only ever had 2 dogs in his life !
  16. Have a small jill here that has done it in front of 2 witnesses! haha thats handy ideation, yeah i guy i work with swears he had a big hob who dragged the odd rabbit out, Never had them drag a rabbit out but ive had a hob that used to catch rabbits just before they bolted and all you had to do was pick it up.
  17. I like the look of these! Think I might pick one up. They aren't as obvious as carrying around a battery on your shoulder. I'm using a Clulite at the moment. 10 years old and never let me down... Apart from a battery and bulb replacement... But that's expected. The Cluson Clu-Briter is a top bit of kit for £60. Charges up by mains or in car. Good tight white beam. Plenty for rabbits. Easy to hold, no trailing wires or batteries. It's smaller than a small battery drill and alot lighter. I'm taking this out tonight and will take my 1600 Lumen cree torch as back up. Atb. Ga
  18. Thats our normal suroundings when we are ferreting ! I allways find it helps if you can block off likley escape roots aswell.
  19. In my opinion the feller is a pleb who goes on about "training ferrets to hunt in unused warrens" aswell as allsorts of other bullshit. Ticks will be a common occurence for you mate i just use a little tick puller you can get them off plenty of websites. ATB
  20. SKA as i said it doesnt make mine hard mouthed the will ritrieve rabbits live to hand but rats and squrriels are shaken and crunched hard. All depends on the dog i suppose. When we are at the pig farm my dogs cuaght rats and killed then but when a bunny bolts into the net they are as soft mouthed as ever. ATB
  21. I use mine for a fair bit off ratting and squrrieling it doesnt make them hard mouthed at allas the dogs know whats what. i have permission on a pig farm and even when we are ferreting for rabbits you normally get some rats bolt aswell. ATB
  22. I wouldnt mind seeing an episode of shooting roosting pigeons and magpies without the aid of a lamp. Obviously you would have to wait for the leaves to drop off abit more but would be an interesting watch. ATB
  23. As already said different situations call for different measures. If im just out to give the dog a few runs then i enter 1 jill and aim for single quick bolts. But if out doing pest control then a dig could add another rabbit or 2 to the bag.
  24. Good pics mate. Aslong as they stay away from my carp waters i dont mind them.
