  1. My bull/greyhounds got a slight heart murmur. Doednt stop him or bother him at all. He can do a day or nights hard graft and still be ready for more. ATB
  2. I hate that feeling. Back in the day running deer the dog would run into huge forestry tracts you dont know whether or not the dogs injured or worse.
  3. Both the bull crosses ive had are fairly soft mouthed but the one i have at the minute normally kills the first one he catches the rest are brought back to hand alive. As sirius said they wouldnt be the first choice of rabbiting dog but saying that they have qualities that work well on the land i run. ATB
  4. Couldnt agree more mate the rabbiting does deffinitly give them an edge when it comes to lamping fox aswell as running down the beam.
  5. Hes 3/8 bull 5/8 greyhound and is about 24tts mate.
  6. Mines a regular little ferreter and lamper.
  7. Wouldnt bother mate load of shite.

  12. How did you work that one out mate ? When i didnt have a job getting to any good land was bloody hard work.even going with other lads had to pay for fuel. ATB sorry mate i should have explained it better,i mean a man will feed his family regardless of the law.i honestly believe we are in for some real hardship in the coming year. I know what your saying mate but i think the romantic tales of poachers taking rabbits or hares for the pot are just that (fairy tales). Lets be honest most of us work our dogs for enjoyment and to see the dogs work. Even so called deer poachers i dont thin

  16. Have a look at carp fishing barrows. They are good and strong enough to deal with most terrains.
  17. FFS i carnt believe theres groups of lads going round choring ferrets. In the summer people cant give kits away. Has anyone got any idea what they are doing with them ? If they are taking nets it must mean they are selling to ferreter or using it themselves ? I hope the b*****ds get caught soon. Theyll get a nasty surprise if they try getting into my backyard ....
  18. I worm mine every 3 months and i usually freeze mine for a week. A few weeks ago me and a feller of this site had been out on our permission ferreting. We left his 6 week old pup in the moter with a couple of rabbits while we bolted a few for the dogs. When we come back to the truck thr pup had eaten most of a full grown rabbit !!! She looked like she enjoyed it lol.
  19. Just out of interest mate why dont you feed them the jackets too ? I do fellah heads feet and all guts the lot......... Read my post again iv high lighted it for ya, Rabbits are great bit of food for the dogs just make sure you give a month in the freezer first cause of parasites (They say 3wks but i give a month) Ahh fair enough mate read it wrong. I give mine whole rabbit with guts dropped out.the only problem i get is the bull x will eat them if i leave him in the motor with them. Atb

  21. The rabbit numbers are low round here this year. Still been getting a few but nothing like last year. Only thing that is gutting is when we are still catching mixy rabbits. Even the dogs are getting bored with them lol.
  22. Very nice dog mate. Im thinking about getting a bull/whippet or whirrier as my next ferreting and general mooching dog. Whats he like on the lamp mate ?
  23. No mate this is the first time hes done it since ive had him.
  24. Im no expert mate ive only had a handful of dogs myself. Hes probably abit young yet let him mature get his training/retrieving spot on. Enjoy him bieng a pup. Then when hes older and reasonably fit take him out and find him a dumb (or mixy) and the rest is upto him. ATB
  25. Very nice pup mate. Ive always wondered about a malinoi x greyhound think they would make handy dogs. ATB with him.
