  1. I personally dont like to take the dogs ferreting as pups. Done it before and first time out on the lamp he started marking warrens when he missed rabbits. Ive got him out of it but was alot of hard work. Id rather a dog learn nothing than learn bad habits. ATB
  2. muppets. fecking antis im not an anti im just annoyed with dog men around my permissions poaching and i was only just asking a question if its illegal to lamp with a dog. There's asking, and there's asking! & there' s scum poaching tw@ts who drive over our fields killing everything in sight with their "Running Dogs" I also know shooters who are scumbags. Please dont tar us all with the same brush there are good and bad in all walks of life. With a dog ive never seen an animal have a lingering death. I cant say the same sbout shooting. atb
  3. Hes about 18 months mate but is still abit immature. There must be a reason for them doing it. I thought he was maybe hiding it from the other dog we had on the lead ?
  4. Took my saluki/greyhound out earlier to flush and ritrieve in accordance with the law. On ritrieve he ran off with the game and half buried it. Anybody got any ideas why hes doing this ?
  5. It says They seized mobile phones computers and material linked to hunting so just goes to show that pics aren't always a good idea. atb
  6. A couple of small stop nets or place your ferret boxes in the way with your nets set tight to hedge. ATB
  7. If someones willing to help me out i can take them on abit of permission for a days sport aswell ?
  8. Ive had that aswell mate but mine hit me in the nose had a few lads out with me aswell. Me and crozzo off here was out ferreting and my dog pulled me down a 20ft bank with a big bit of flint hitting me at the bottom lol.
  9. Ive had allsorts happen sent my dog down the beam and he's hit a hedgehog like a freight train. Worse one was when he was on a rabbit and the f****r ran it towards me next thing i know 70lb of bull cross has run into me !!
  10. Agree aslong as there needs are met then there should be no problems. My bull cross used to be in his little kennel and run was let out and played with when i came home for lunch then put back and as soon as i was back home let out and interacted with. He's turned out fine. ATB
  11. Striker in my opinion. Blitz is abit bulky for me. ATB
  12. Often see muzzles on dogs when walking about the streets etc.. What you dont see is muzzled dogs being sent into the unknown to potentially go toe to toe with something 2/3 s its own body weight (rat/weasal) without the use of its teeth I don't ferret for rats or weasels and don't know anyone that does and have never known anyone coming across this. How often does this happen...1 in a thousand??? You've taken the topic to extremes and it's turned into a pointless debate! Some places we ferret you can bolt a dozen rats a day when your after conies. As for you talking about
  13. But its not gonna stop a rabbit hunching up in a stopend is it ?
  14. No feller becuase you never know wats below ground that can harm your ferrets. Dont take this the wrong way but i think you need to do some more homework on your chosen sport. ATB
  15. No it doesnt. It has no place in todays ferreting in my opinion. ATB
  16. Whenever i find lads on my permissions i just let them crack on. Aslong as they aint causing me or the landowner any hassle than whats the problem ? I never used to have much permission and would ferret roadsides. Quite often people would pull up and say " we have horses and the rabbits are digging the fields" or that rabbits were damaging there gardens. You would get the odd wanker saying hunting with rabbits is illegal but not too many. I will allways take people out who have a genuine interest and are willing to learn and respect the land. ATB
  17. Agree with you mate i started off shooting pigeons and rabbits. I did get abit bored and got myself a lurcher. Opened up a whole new world of fun. ATB
  18. Good stuff mate. Ive got an old boy here who can still do a days graft. ATB
  19. He did some cheap of dogs and deer books ?
  20. I do mate but i only use drontal. ATB
  21. Them leather slip leads are shite allways unclipping when you dont want them to. Just get yourself some nylon string or strong stuffs slips. ATB
