I done the same with mine kept running him on silly things far too young. Mine never liked a bite but everything else he'd try his best. For a lad my age he was a good dog and still get the odd day out with the ferrets now.

I remember when I first saw him in the flesh and your bro bought him out I said it looks like its got bull in it lol some head on him. Ask your bro about the time he pulled a roe in this bog around Christmas time going through the ice into stinking water. They were tryers though can't ask much more than that. It makes me laugh I used to run my old dog to death on them he bagged a few but not many. Now I don't wanna run them and my dogs are keener on them than anything lol. Atb

I think a summer rest is beneficial to both dogs and humans if you put enough in front of the dogs in the season. Good write up mate Atb.

Im not sure what speed but I try keeping it so there sort of cantering along. Started off only doing 20 mins but there doing about an hours worth of steady trotting along the canal now. Got a fair bit of private road I can use aswell wich is handy. I only have them out on the bike every other night though the rest is steady walking got an app on my phone and on an average walk that I take it's about 14.3 miles.

i was just thinking about these lurchers with alot of collie in the mix, and regards lamping people keep saying how good they are .? Well ive been lamping few years now lol, and i know like few lads on here that some rabbits you lamp, can feckin shift And sometimes you deff need that extra gear to get up and put a strike in, not all rabbits are easy+slow. My dog Bryn very fast for a 1x collie x grey, to be honest it was a good job with some rabbits he as caught or they would have got away they not all easy to catch . Lots of folk like that, need something to stand behind to be able to feel their backbone. Very true. My old man used to do abit of problem solving when money was short. He always told me its not the ones that will stand there and fight ya you gotta worry about ... It's the ones that are scared of ya you've got to watch .... Desperate people take desperate measures.
