  1. I have, and still do, both walking and driving... Had decent numbers either way Same here. As I said in my first post both have a time and a place. Atb
  2. You have pm. True mate we learnt the hard way I think. I wouldn't dream of ploughing across crop fields these days but if they are stubble or hay and the quarries there it's game on. I prefer to roadside these days or use the by lanes. I'm good friends with a young keeper on a 18000 bird estate. He's a good lad for a keeper anyways we have a laugh and he let's me on end of season for abit of ferreting or the odd run on other stuff. He's just lost a good partridge flushing point due to lads driving straight through it he's had deer left in the middle of fields. Like everything there's a righ
  3. A fair post there mate. Although gotta say driving with you lot can get abit ... Er .... "emotional" at times lol. You know what's its like local here though you need a motor sometimes to put the dogs behind a good amount. Atb lol..lol... remember when the hammer hit you in face, same night my bitch pissed on you lol... will never forget that night. then stopped for a kebab to miles from getting chased. nearly knocked my mate out keep screaming like a girl. atb Lol yep remember the lot Never seen a night like it there's me sat in the back fat lip covered in piss on the verge of having a

  5. I remember the thread there was a few people wanting to enter ...
  6. That's what I do mainly if you have a good dog you shouldn't need to even enter the field just slip from the road. Also the best fox catching team I've ever seen was a bull x a motor driver and blitz. Floor matt over the passenger window dog on the passenger seat driver lamping. Hell of a team. On some of the big stumbles around here though you need to get into the fields to keep up with a run. Atb
  7. iv never been lamping in a car and have had many offers and to the lads that have offerd me i would never take them to my land cause they will be driving over my permission i walk miles and it does not bother me just the thought of driving along fields stupid if you ask me jmo You hit the nail on the head there. "Permission"I bet that two thirds that " drive the land " don't have permission. In my experience gamekeepers are just as bad for driving crops. Most of them wouldn't dream of getting out of the comfort of there jeeps and "having a walk". My old boss who was head keeper used to la
  8. In the right situations it's brilliant I've killed loads of gear out the motor and on a good night you can put as much gear in front of the dogs than your average walker will see all season. I wouldn't use it exclusively but it has it's place. Atb
  9. It's not impossible ..... But relies on a massive amount of luck and takes a lot of bottle .... From both dogs and men ....
  10. You would have to be a proper wanker to run dogs in this weather for abit of fun. No respect for quarry or there dogs.
  11. Nice pups credit to you lads i must admit salukixgrey when you brung him and showed him to me he seemed nice and calm but still very alert like he was just soaking everything in. the whole litter look good though credit to you rain. Hows the other one getting on with this heat and that coat of his ? Did you strip him out in the end ?? Atb
  12. My lamper. Hes taken everything on the lamp keeps me happy enough. I can run him anywhere hes almost unbreakable theres q place we run where its too stoney for most doga but he does ok on there taking half a dozen rabbits most nights aswell as other stuff,
  13. My dogs haven't been doing much at all they get an evening walk but it's far too hot and I live in an area where there's too many things sitting out in the hay fields one unitetional run could f**k the dogs so I keep them leashed up anyway. Atb
  14. Fook in hell mate that pic brings back some memories that bitch saw some graft very fast bitch. Atb
  15. Nice dogs there mate. I must admit I find it hard to not slip when certain things jump up when just out and about so I purposely try to avoid places with quarry about. Unfortunately though this lot I have here have a penchant for the bigger stuff and can sometimes pull them in the most awkward of places aswell as smashing there feet to bits in the process. That dog of yours certainly looks strong mate how's it bred ?? Atb
  16. looks very similar That young pup looks a lot like one of snipes pups too. Nice enough dogs though Atb with them.
  17. Nice pal that's a tough little dog to be running on ground this hard Atb.
  18. do you think its maybe something to do with scent ? Not sure mate as even when lamping fox with the wind in our faces they still find there way back .... MOST of the time ..
  19. wont be any use you got no saluki in there Lol suppose not but he's obviously under the impression his dogs are the last of the "old poaching" dogs. Unfortunately a lot of us want more from our dogs than 1 or 2 bunnies a night or the odd easy hare.
  20. I'd like to send him the pic I have of my half x bull/grey bitch led down with pheasant chicks around her not batting an eye lid. This lurcher game attracts some real funny people at times.all the best
  21. I found it mad how they can trace back to where they were slipped from even on land theyve never been on before ,,,,
  22. What a fecking eejit is all i can say .,,,
  23. I don't do too much shooting any more but when I was younger I was out 24/7 messing with the guns. Camo does not get you any more shooting opportunities then drab clothing. I use florescant nets when I'm ferreting it doesn't seem to stop rabbits bolting into them and my old dog is white and brindle yet it's never stopped him catching lots of game. Even fishing I see a lot of lads in full camo when I've stalked some real old sly carp wearing bright colours. As long as your still and use wind ect to your advantage there should be no trouble. Though when I'm roost shooting in the snow I have foun
  24. Looks strong mate atb with it.
  25. That's why I come on this site as I like seeing how others people do things. Certain people on here I used to bitch and argue with but most of them people soon hide behind others when push comes to shove. Now I'd rather just ignore them as they do a good enough job of making themselves look foolish they don't need my help. Ive said to kc when he was getting shit about his threads in winter to keep them up as this site should be more than just rabbiting and "pics of the dogs on a walk".i normally put up a few ferreting threads early on in the season and hopefully this winter should have a hawk
