True, but many don't get given the chance to work out what it's there for. Most point and slip machines, given the opportunity and time will suss it out. But many don't have the basic training to allow that opportunity Exactly mate. My two are what would normally be classed as point and slip but given the chance they can find quarry in a lot of different situations. A day mooching around some gorse using purely his nose no ferrets or terriers. And my 3/8th 5/8th bull/grey often points game birds and In daytime will often quietly hunt up and catch his quarry ....the first you know

Youd be surprised what most " point and slip" lurchers can find given half a chance.

Whats The Best Line Of Coursing Dog For A Match
fitchet replied to ROBERTO M's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
In all honesty Im below average. The dogs do me justice but I wouldn't say I give them 100% all the time but they do. I'd say they get a lot of work between the two and they are out everyday doing something they are fed a good diet and are looked after. But most of there work is done on shitty ground and even when they've done well I'm allways overlooking it and not thinking fair play to em they done well there. But then again I'm sure if my dogs could talk they are happy with there lot there's a lot worst places they could be and I put a lot of work into getting them right where as most would -

Allways liked that black n tan since you first put pics of the pups up. In proper condition aswell. Hope he keeps up the good work. -
I tend to steer well clear of mainline products matey ..... It went through a spell of bieng the bait of choice for a local water due to a local bieng able to get hold of it. It soon went out of fashion though as Alot of them do.

supprised he never lost his ticket, missplacing someing like that :hmm: where would you have stood if no one collected it after x amount of days?? if you had a licence would you get it ? That's what I said to my mate as soon as he came out but the feller got it back no probs he said to us he if it of ended up in the wrong hands he'd of been in deep shit. I've heard of people people losing air guns for less though.

Was driving about with a mate not long age seen a gun case in the middle of a country lane stopped and had a look was a double barrel 12 bore. Put it back in the case and a mate took it in to the police station was both shitting it on the way there. A couple of days later my mate gets a phone all of a local gamekeeper apperantly had fell out the back of his truck !!! Offered us a few pints at the local pub but wouldn't give us permission lol.

Favourite Quarry, Toughest Quarry And Easiest Quarry
fitchet replied to Dan Davies's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Easiest for me has to be yearling roe I've seen them walk towards dogs and just stand there looking whilst the dogs on its way towards it right up until they are yanked off there feet. Favourite is probably fox they pop up everywhere and can make for a good hunt plus no carcase to carry. Hardest has to be a strong daytime winter hare. But saying that in all quarry some are just a cut above the rest and have the ability to make a good dog look average even rabbits ..... -
Wouldn't dream of it Im old school...if I want some Ill make em just found it mind blowing seeing boilies for sale in a cheapo supermarket it was all cloak and dagger years ago(first rule of Carp Club...we don't talk about Carp Club )and now this mind blowing....anyway back to my packet of Lemon Puffs (69p) surprisingly tasty and not nearly as gay as they sound Good man. a friend of mine has recently passed away but a few weeks before he made some smashing pop Ups and boilies. They started selling them in a few well known tackle shops and the reports are still coming in now of good captu
