  1. No mate, that links not working? Welsh_red there is a 100% accurate case of 2 schoolkids presenting a skull they claimed to have found,it was a genuine big cat skull........ http://fortean.wikidot.com/big-cats-in-the-south-west Ha! Came from a discarded Leopard rug. You'd wonder how these things end up in a ditch or river etc.
  2. This is Ireland https://youtu.be/ep3M8T6_2mQ
  3. Yea not bad for your first try at making them. Some good pointers from micky there.
  4. How much of an advantage would they be though FENN? Surely a lot of the snares would get kinked up by a fox pulling a rabbit out of them. Also, don't think rabbits breaking brass snares is a common problem.
  5. These were made with small diameter wire for mink. Fenn's description just reminded me of them.
  6. Reminded me of this i read some years ago. Couple of idea's http://nytrappers.**"£$%^&*(.com/thread/9398/mink-snares-snaring Sorry won't let me share. I'll try get some pics up.
  7. it also makes it much harder for people trying to actually prove the excistance of big cats in England as well because we all get tarred with the same brush, in the event of a good photo coming to light the first thing we do is go and take measurements and size scale,s of the scene, were as this one was just shared for a laugh and no one I know will be rushing to St. Albans to take measurements My thoughts exactly. This is the reason why folk are so sceptical towards sightings, photo's etc. So much shite out there like this.
  8. Something like this maybe http://www.sign-holders.co.uk/Hanging-wire-systems/Wire-rope-fittings/c-1-151-158/
  9. I'd be happy if I won those few bits.
  10. Brown Sauce. One of the most underrated mink and fox lures out there. We really shouldn't be giving away secrets such as this. Ps. I get better results with Chef personally.
  11. Looks like something stronger than a rabbit got caught in that one on the right. Strong enough to twist out of it. Hmmm....
  12. I hear Baldy McDonagh called her out!
  13. Might have a few eyelets for ya but no wire I'm afraid.
  14. If only I could stop the big one moulting year round I'll be happy . Did you notice the mink raft in the background ? I certainly did. Nice looking stream that.
  15. Those dog's are in great condition red. Excellent photo's once again.
  16. Well I suppose with colour variation and albinoism the most important aspect are gene's, and passing on these odd gene's. Interbreeding would only make it more common for these colour varations to resurface more often. That is why selective breeding in captive animals can result in lots of colourful rats, rabbits etc. Edited just to add. If there is no defective gene pool in an area, then you won't have any oddball rats etc no matter how dence the population.
  17. I suppose like the golden moles, some area's have them, and some don't. I've only ever caught two silver mink in all my years of trapping them. Both were caught on the same little stretch of river, but they were caught around 17 to 19 years apart.
  18. Lol You'd nearly sware someone was out there spreading them round the country on purpose, ehemmmm!
  19. Their spreading http://www.thatsfarming.com/news/coypus-spotted-in-leitrim-species-alert
  20. And where did white pet rats come from originally? Not being smart, just think about it.
  21. Don't think it's anything to do with escapee pets personally. Black rabbits can be found in many area's, and doubt they are all throwbacks from said pets. It could have something more to do with dence populations and inbreeding. As said with rats. Off coloured one's are often found where there are healthy populations.
  22. My mates has a great passion for all things WW2, and has a small library of books and literature on the subject. There's one book that he assures me stands out on its own. A mind blowing book which tells the story of what happened to these brave men when they came home from fighting in the war. DEMOBBED https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Books/Demobbed-Coming-Home-After-World-War-Two/0300140436 For anyone who has an interest in WW2, do yourselves a favour, and get this book.
  23. Jameson is the nicest of all the standard brands and best value for money. Nice and sweet and goes well with 7UP or as hot whiskey. Stay away from powers and paddy their p1ss and Tullamore Dew is way over rated. Hennessy is beautiful if he likes brandy it's top notch.I have to say Paddy is my favourite whiskey. Maybe I have poor taste, but I love the stuff. Could never understand why anyone would want to mix whiskey with anything else though. You'd obviously lose the taste.one or two is nice neat but if you were at a function and drinking a lot of it the 7UP will keep you standing upright for
