  9. Put your foot down wife's got one of these an a pure chihuahua horrible bug eyed snappy little b*****ds,I rate them them just above cats, Take her to see some Russell pups or borders if you can find sensibly priced ones. Yea second that. Take her to see pups of your choice, and like all women, once she see's a cute little puppy, she won't go home without one.
  10. I see it's signed. Did you try googling it?
  11. If you hunt for profit, it is imperative that you do not leave too many ferrets behind enemy lines... The locator is a must have item,.. The problem here Phil, is the ground in alot of places is in undigable so if you were to lose a ferret whether snake bite, stuck or whatever you would lose the locater as well Isn't it amazing. Tools that do the job very well in one climate, can be totally useless in another. Would you say, that ferreting ain't as popular over there for this reason?
  12. That's cause he is dead. Ya can't get more dead than dead! Lol Well micky, was it in the Juby? Going in or coming out?
  13. f**k mine over the wall into the neighbours garden. Have to wait till after dark obviously. Dirty c**ts never clean up their dog shit. I have a right to ring the council. It's a f****n disgrace.
  14. Sorry to hear that lad. Same thing happened to myself. Lost couple a young terriers, and my ferrets. Still not got back into the game, but thinking of making a start shortly.
  15. Check out youtube for boiling. Great job
  16. Darren, you seriously need to either get in with someone who will show you the ropes, or do your homework on all things working terriers. You owe it to your dog's. As said, you can't let your dog's run off the lead, where there is any chance they may find an earth. No if's or but's. You were lucky this time, there should be NO next time.
  17. Phil, there are several more Young catalogues on the way. And guess what! The very last entry, will be from 1972

  21. Yes, and as things have changed over the years, with more and more ever tightening restrictions, the joy is being squeezed out of our sport. Whether a pastime or profession, we enjoy what we do. Yes those were harder times, but better times.
  22. Following on from my post in General Talk, on my mates online Shadowbox/Museum of ephemera, "Pest Control, 1950 to 1975". Here's some new content which I'm sure you lads will find very interesting indeed. Have a flick through whilst yer there. Lots of ephemera collected over many years, and placed here for easy access and viewing. Lots more content to be added too, so have a browse through whenever ye can. Enjoy! 1959 Young's catalogue now showing! http://pest-contol-papers.boards.net/thread/87/1959
  23. Well lads, my old buddy has recently created what you might call an online library/museum on old British Pest Control literature from between 1950 to 1975. He has collected a huge amount of information over the years, and has put it in this library so's he can add to it and others can read if they wish. I've had a look myself and found some very interesting stuff on there. Just read an intriguing article on the decline of Rattus rattus in and around London and other county's in the late 50's, early 60's. Anyway, some of you may have some well kept gem's you might like to add to this li
  24. As Phil says, the Fenn is designed to be used in a tunnel. A tunnel of the proper dimentions, not only prevents the target animal from jumping clear. It also directs him over the pan, and prevents the target from coming in from the wrong side. This can mean the difference between success, and failure.
  25. There'd be a lot devastated on here micky, if the General Talk section was deleted. Lol
