  1. I have a look in on the woman's Facebook from time to time. She likes her trapping too, and used to tag along with me quite often. One or two decent groups on it. Most however have idiots on them passing on rubbish info and tips, which they must make up in their heads as they're writing it. Pull them up on it (even in the nicest way possible), and you are barraged with abuse. Not only that, they'll have other idiots backing them up on their ridiculous statements.
  2. Nice to get a result like that. Makes up for all the blank days lol
  3. True micky. At first glance I don't like them. Think they look rather flimsy, and springs don't look very powerful. Now maybe that's a bit unfair, seen as I haven't seen one in the flesh, but I doubt there anywhere near the power of a Doc.
  4. Just hit on reply, write whatever as usual, and when you want to insert pictures just hit " Click to choose files" pick whatever picture you want. Tap it and it will appear underneath here. You will see a + sign on your pic. Hit that, and it will appear under your writing. You can then add more pics or write more, if you wish.
  5. Thanks for that. Your right, it is ridiculous.
  6. Take a few pics of your sets Darren, and maybe some locations next time your down there.
  7. O god I know that. Just wondering does the law actually state which species you can or can't hunt with dogs in the UK? I ain't done my homework on this, so somewhat confused. Rabbits and rats are ok, but anything else is a no no? I know digging fox's is aloud under certain conditions, but is that it?
  8. But why can't you use terriers to hunt mink? And why is it ok to use them to hunt rats?
  9. Well these are different locations. Got three on one little river, and one in a tributary of said river, just down the road. Three were in Fenns used in dug out holes in the riverbank, and one was caught in a tube trap on the top bank, similar to the setup in my previous post. Nothing very complicated, and I use the same spots year after year.
  10. Jess micky, lucky it was only the camera you broke. I've always gone out on my own. Suppose I like my own company, but it does enter my mind from time to time, "what if I get in trouble". The shit could hit the fan real quick.
  11. Hmmm! It must be something other than rabbits that's setting your traps off micky. If that's the case, well then no real harm. Frustrating, yes I'm sure. I have no experience with the Juby's, but look like they pretty much take care of themselves.
  12. Well flooding ain't the best thing in the world when it comes to mink trapping. In fact it can be a nightmare. But flooding don't last forever, and eventually the water subsides. I find this is often a good time to catch mink in numbers, when they begin to return to the rivers after abandoning ship. Managed four mink this morning out of seven traps. And that's after a week or more checking empty traps. I suppose the key factor here is to keep those traps working, no matter what the weather throws at you, so's not to miss an opportunity of a catch. Another thing to keep
  13. Fleshing and salting is the simplest method, and will probably do for what you want.
  14. Been doing well the last couple of months. We just had a serious amount of rain though last night. My back yard is flooded, and I presume the rivers are too.
  15. I don't put much on here lads mainly due to most of my trapping taking place before sunlight. Life is busy, and I suppose you gotta do what ya gotta do. Just thought I'd share this little concept, that might be beneficial to some of you. It's nothing new, in fact it's very simple, but works very well. It's all about the importance of location, and how you can make it benificial to your trapping success. Seeking and finding that one spot where every target animal will go. I'm talking mink here, but the same concept can be used for many other animals, including rats. Alot of us do this all
  16. Never noticed micky. It was a good catch on that rabbit, even though the trap was technically the wrong way round. They really are a perfect rabbit trap ain't they.
  17. Lol Micky, your not the average Joe soap, that's for sure
  18. Nicely done micky. How do you carry your traps to location? Just by hand, game bag? I find three or four is as much as I can handle, especially if it's a walk.
