  1. For a start , don’t f**k about with the dog in the house, every environment leaves a dog with an energetic feed back of how he felt the last time he was there, dogs don’t think this shit out, they go back into the same head space , the same energetic mind set it was in the last time there ,mother nature’s shortcut , so if the house was a f***ing play zone as a pup , the script is already typed, I’m not saying you caused it the point I’m making is , inside calm outside play , you don’t want to want to be stimulating a pup/dog in the home because your creating a physical history of how
  2. Ah, I think we’ve had just about enough of ye thanks , we tried it once and didn’t like it , as I always say
  3. She’s got an honest lookin eye, can’t ask any more than that in their attitude
  4. Not looking at any book bud looking her in the eye , she has work written all over her
  5. Tough as aul boots that one I’d say , not a sign of it on her face , good bitch to take a pup out of
  6. Your on to something there , the state of mind and the urge to eat are connected in the dog so things have to be moving in it’s environment, it included high vibrating dog doesn’t like static situations like a bowl , food can make a dog feel vulnerable makes it feel a little panicky, little fearful , get contact to eat , it would also work on the down but only by luring, then feeding in the down , gives the dog something to do with its energy and that build up gives the dog a focus for it when you whisk your hand in with a mouthful of food , It’s a pain in the ass issue but
  7. Hand feed the f****r everything, get to the stage where he’s pushing in on your left hand to get the food in your right Won’t happen overnight but what it does is , it give the dog a feeling of overcoming you/something and reduces fear overall He won’t f***ing starve himself, pushing for food builds confidence and gives the dog a sense of achievement, I mechanically use it to speed up bonding in a pup with its owner, it has to tune in to you, to apply physical force If ya get my drift bud
  8. They all want to chase and bite stuff , that’s the bottom line , whatever the temperament if you take that as a starting and finishing point, of a dog feeling as well as it can and start from there, because that’s it’s goal the only difference is how fast or how slow to proceed , all you’re doing with a pup is creating a safe zone in your space , it’s not training as such , it’s a foundation for training , once a pup is tuned in, it will want to do your bidding , bulldog or whippet it matters not , reading its body language is key dint be fooled into thinking theirs ocean
  9. Start the pup off in your space, out somewhere calm, it’s not training as such it’s creating a positive mindset by association, I don’t use a ball, ball only leads to frustration , he can’t really open up on a ball energetically what I want is for the pup to really invest in the item, it’s got to be able to fully express by creating a wave through grabbing and shaking it like f**k, it’s the killing bite for all predators after the chase, with the ball you get only the chase, the really effect is felt in the killing bite and the wave creation of the shake out, letting it win every ti
  10. Some dogs will ingest grass if they feel unwell and others will eat grass all day well or not some dogs are browsers and will go from blackberry to grass to cleavers to whatever is available , dogs like that are usually fairly grounded and level headed , the ability to switch off and browse shows a calm animal
  11. It’s about creating or not creating a state of mind ferreting by the very act of standing still makes a rabbit appear or so it seems, makes a pup a very quick learner of what to do with its body , it creates a focussed state of mind/body on the flip side, if a pup believes that running round the field like a headless f***ing chicken make bunnies appear , that too is exactly what it will do with its body, no dog worth his salt, needs to do showing how to hunt
  12. Few things going on there me aul bucko, first, sexuality has kicked in , he’s more driven , eager to investigate sights/smells etc , while grub/gut had motivated him before, now his balls are tingling for work , it’s not a dead ear it’s a different emotional state A dog has no idea what its bred for , it has no idea it wasn’t born to run down the driveway barking like a c**t because if that the only physical expression open to him that’s the position it’ll fill , it needs some form or work/hunting forget training in the house, forget that shite , if the dog is in the house , igno
  13. People reading aggression, I’m reading fear , how does a dog show fear ? Read fear in body language, when a dog is fearful of something it’s noticeable through the space given and its movement , when it can’t express movement like on a lead , in a pen in a car , a dog can’t just do nothing, whatever it’s feeling has got to be expressed somehow if it’s a leash or hand issue I would only hand feed in those circumstances , no bowl f**k the bowl away I only ever hand feed pups and have into adulthood I don’t create space between myself and a highly prised item like food from
  14. The only time that negative shit shows is when the dog has a Choice , , give it a choice to come to you or interact with something it feels is completely and utterly Positive , decides its next move
  15. Corrections without association would be my first port of call, drenching the f****r with water and shocking him will cause negative association , dog has no way of filtering you out of that mate, the f****r can’t do reason But it’ll only show in the field and that’s the only place that matters , each to their own
  16. How do you know it’s harmless? if you believe you can introduce a fear response to a stimulus through your actions in clear sight of the dog and not leave a fearful residue, your deluded corrections are best made without the dog directly associating its owner in the process, no doubt,
  17. Looks good enough to take a “turn “ already would have put the pup down for a few months further on , it’ll hit the ground running by next season ,
  18. Honest lookin animals, just about all you can ask for in a working dog
  19. We think we have it all figured out, we’ve experience and knowledge, then the natural world has a way of reducing us back to 10 years olds stuttering and fidgeting ?, good tale well told
  20. Capable looking animals there AT, best of luck with them
  21. I would be looking for something now if your itching to start it this season
  22. I would ask the question on here , why does the dog need to engage with other dogs to be completely social Can a mature grounded working animal not deal with a situation involving dogs or any other animals without months of pointless stressful encounters Does a dog even know it’s a dog or is it going through preprogrammed behaviours with another to resolve tension , sniffing , peeing for grounded dogs , and for f****d up dogs barking , snarling biting, they all reduce tension it’s just some are dysfunctional to our human reason how can working sled dogs in the far nort
  23. Temperament comes online at adulthood , it’s also malleable not fixed , just needs a little tweaking sometimes ?
