  1. a lad in the village i live has a first cross to a lurcher and its a nice dog he has 2 acd greyhounds he got from wales he is just starting now about 11 months i think he said im not sure if there a first cross though because there about 26 27 inch really nice dogs very racey if they are first cross, he does lots of ferreting and really rates them

  3. i bred a litter last year by accident after the dog lost his leg both were too young really but well bred i gave all the pups away and just kept the last little bitch as i couldnt be bothered to advertise her , she self entered to fox at 9 months her mother is grafting well i put that more down to the breeding than anything else but im not sure id use a dog that had walked
  4. mine are doing ok stay until dug dont do alot of digging but they havnt let me down mostly do rats with them, got really good noses on them. i know the parents and grandparents are hunt terriers my two are fairly sensible
  5. i got a bitch stood at 2 days and had a litter after an injection yet my other bitch wouldnt let anything even sniff her untill 12 days
  6. i saw one about five years ago in my sisters garden the neighbers had all been kicking off about the carp in there ponds going missing for a few months she lives in the middle of the town and a good few mile from the nearest stream or river
  7. my patterdale caught my lakeland bitch after he did the bitch had the two jabs to abort the litter it hasnt worked would the jab have caused any problems to the pups there due in two weeks the vet says they should be ok im just wondering if anyone has had a litterb of pups after they have had the jabs and were they ok
  8. right lads i need some advice the three legged wonder lined my little lakeland bitch last night by accident i never took loads of notice of him as the bitch was only 4 days into her season and didnt realise i hadn,t locked the pen up right i phoned the vets and they said its very unlikely to need a jab as its so soon in the season does anyone have any experience of a bitch being caught so soon into a season
  9. thats why i never had him pts. hes been coming to work with me since i picked him up on tuesday from the vets, ive just had him over the field at the back and he marked a tin sheet and got a rat from under it. just a shame he wont get a chance as a earth dog as he wouldnt be able to dig on with one leg
  10. pup was back at the vets yesterday wounds healing great and he only needs to go back for the stiches out he has already worked out how to get about
  11. picked him up this morning full of beans and happy dont think he will have any problems ajusting to having a leg missing
  12. no they gave me the option of the operation to fix it with plates and pins but said it probably wouldn,t work and would need off anyway at some point. they said about putting him down but i felt i owed it to him to try other methods first he was gifted from really good digging dogs and got his first rat at 16 weeks old my sister says if he struggles with anything he can go and live with her
  13. was out ratting yesterday and my ten month old patterdale shattered his front leg on a metal sheet he,s in the vets now there going to remove it this morning. he is getting it removed this morning he,s had over 200 rats already has anyone seen a dog with its front leg removed if so how well could they get about.

  17. they sound a interesting litter both parents look like there not to heavy and can run abit good luck with them
  18. ian.s dogs are bred down from wards but he seems to do all right with them work wise and the two ive got are dont do to bad for me
  19. im only looking at getting one from him as you know what you get from him saw 3 direct from Richard Jones and had a 3/4 from one of his daughters my old bitch is too old to breed a litter from now shes a line bred collie grey with a few lines back to Hancock bred dogs. i quite like the look of Mr Jones hes got what sort of pups does he throw ?
  20. dog fox it was craig that told my mate he preferred his hounds and running dogs they were broken coated reds he had terrier wise not from his dads
