  1. Most of the hares I've run were lamped but some of the daywalkers I've seen don't think anything of a kick up or strangely always have a pup to start in the summer

  3. This one of mine 5 yr old now and I've had no complaints about him just a noisy dog in kennels so lives with my sister
  4. There's still good Lakelands about Ian church's have a high percentage of good workers from them I've seen alot from his line work he shows his dogs but he works them

I've seen a 3/4 reverse bred collie greyhound take hundreds up the dales plenty fast enough she was no good local on the lamp but took loads of bolters local to me he knew her limitations and worked her to suit her style, she took fox as well single handed the farm collie sometimes came with us and he took loads of stuff on the moors and blocks of woodland he really was good for bolters near woods no fear would just plough in and grab them never seen him run stuff on open sets though
  6. About 25 years ago some lads let some grey rabbits go near me all the ones in one place died off but the other place they let them go are still there see a few every time we ferret there
  7. I had one pure saluki caught a bull grey only pup in the litter was really good dog took loads of fox best was 4 in a night wasn't built like a saluki really powerful dog unfortunately had to be pts had throat cancer I would have another if the chance came up
  8. I don't know his surname was a really nice man I know the pup my mate got was for a stud fee over a 3/4 need beddie whippet was a really good bitch but sadly stolen

I remember that lads from collie curse his dog didn't look much different from plumbers dogs I remember seeing a lads beddie greyhounds wrote in the countryman years ago he was called Gary I think they were really nice dogs my mate got a pup off him that day let me take my little Russell out bushing rabbits for his dogs to run putting them out of sedge grass terrier caught as many as she put out was buzzing till they said I had to carry everything my dog caught lol really nice dogs he had very bidable and easily controlled
  10. I'm going to be getting a pup in the summer had to rehome my last bitch started dropping everything day and night she gone to my little sister's had a few nice offers still not sure which to try but two litters not on the ground yet

  13. I seen one ferreting that was supposed to be from plumber was out of the same litter as the bitch he wrote about in the country man's merab I think she was called dog I seen was a really good ferreting dog really tough sort of dog run rough ground with no problem
  14. Is there any litters planned for this year I'm looking for something with collie in will be used mostly for ferreting and a bit of lamping
  15. My young dog lost a front leg when he was 10 months old he was ok working drains struggled in tight areas he turned out to be quite hard but was unable to dodge attacks and got a bit damaged my mate took him on as a pet as I don't think he would of lasted long

I've worked big hobs about 9 years now was given one at the start of the season off a guy who has some of the best land I've ever been on said it always kills rabbits deepest I've dug on his ground is 1 ft grafts really nice seems to really push rabbits out and you can use him all day long smaller ferrets seem to tire by mid day
  17. She marks really well I ferret with the keeper most weeks who said he would take her if she doesn't change he said he isn't bothered she can just travel with him when he feeds up and stuff do her own thing and see if that helps
  18. I thought we were getting some where with her but I'm not sure now catching and retrieving all morning then started to catch them and then letting them go again I give up she's like Jekle and Hyde but when she good it's unreal one of the keepers might be having her as a marking dog
  19. Rabbits all looked fine she was out this afternoon ferreting and brought everything back to hand unmarked never dropped a thing see how she goes tomorrow morning
  20. I'm not sure he said a name but I'm not sure but what ever there from they work well good noses on them and always busy suit him and what he does
  21. I think she's due in season August so I don't think it's that, I don't think it's a trust thing she retrieves everything else even a Charlie last week and it's not all the time just odd times she will not catch them again once she has caught it once
  22. Tried it she doesn't really try with another dog running with her by herself she will hit hedges and cover no problem just hope it's a phase

My lurcher bitch has started to drop rabbits odd times just before there in my hands and won't catch them again she lets them run away and she runs along side just nudging them as if she wants to play with them has anyone else had anything like this the bitch is over 2 now she is pretty soft mouthed but has taken stuff with teeth before
  24. I've been rattlng with a few plummers nice dogs no better than my Lakeland bitch the lad paid a lot of money for them but like he said he paid the money because they were what he wanted he just likes the look of them he digs a good few things with them he got them from some one in Scotland
  25. I've wore dedito boots for 4 years now beating ferreting and digging really comfortable still watertight and soles good
