I can see the logic in that the keepers little whippet is lightning fast but could do with a bit more bulk about him for the hills and woods we are working putting the two together would be good combination in my opinion -

Phil what does the whippet do for the dogs you keep I've been doing a bit of ferreting with the keepers whippet this season he is really fast if we are ferreting in hedges and faster take off speed but is that the reason for crossing them into your collie greyhound -

My border greyhound pup 10 month old just finished her first season so was a bit hyped up today first time out for 3 weeks doing everything that's expected from her -
The lad ive been beating with has a face book page the British association of true working kelpies some really nice dogs on there he called Iain muirhead I must say ive been really impressed with his dogs every time we have been out
-
Bill have you ever thought about anger management you seem really angry well basically about everything
-
That kelpie looks similar built to two that been going beating with me I've seen them working cattle as well and they are really hard working dogs don't know how you can say its not a hard worker from a pic
-
That's what he gets for thinking the country wanted to be led by communists lol
-
I don't know where his new one is from but the other one he had was just a farm bred dog that worked cattle and sheep ive a first cross border collie greyhound and she is just a normal happy dog when I'm out she is happy to just sleep in the kennel if you go for a one I would avoid a trialling bred dog of one bred for that flyball
-
I think it just depends on the ferrets mine live in cages ive got 2 brothers one kills in quite alot the other doesn't really but they have the same size cages
-
When I was at school we all went out with a mixture of dogs walked miles we often seen a lad from shildon with a pure border collie on the lines that dog was really quick followed his terrier and snapped up loads of stuff leaving brambles just seemed to know where it wanted to be for a catch, seen the same lad 20 year later and he still has a collie for mooching
-
My mate had a deerhound grey from Platt said it was numb only really tried on Charlie or deer after the ban become more of a pet for his wife it caught his collie greyhound bitch that was getting on a bit so he kept a pup out of the two said it was the best dog he has ever owned worked all over the country with the dog think he has a grandson of the dog now but he hasn't added any more deerhound just collie greyhound
-
Theres a few good fights whyte should get a shot at wilder before anyone gets to fight him he been his mandatory for a long time now, fury keeps saying he is the lineal champion but was banned for drugs therefore should of been stripped of tittle not allowed to give them up if AJ fought fury like he did last night he wins hands down no one is near fury size or has really tried to box him

Mine half cross border collie greyhound pic taken a few months ago she is 10 months now and 24 inches and fairly bullet proof takes most things in her stride been ferreting twice a week since october and never put a foot wrong starting her on the lamp when the moon goes down a bit -
RIP molly

Peoples experiece on bringing a bitch on heat??
fatlad replied to Darc89's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
My little bitch stops bleeding from day 2 but starts bleeding again on about day 15 never had a bitch like it , she was once caught by a dog I had on day 3 and produced a litter of 4 she is the only bitch I've ever known that is like that hopefully she comes back in for you -
They really do look well them pups ive been beating with a lad that has a couple of kelpie there more controllable than some of the spaniel there really not what I expected them to be like a stocky collie and bulletproof temperament but the lad said some of them are a bit bitey with strangers lol
-
Ive never owned one but seen a few work one opened up sometimes on her first couple of runs until she settled down was just really excitable dog never hunted up on the lamp the other 2 were litter brothers and worked some really rough ground they were 3/4 bred but never got many injuries and were really good marking dogs and worked with terriers really well just your average lurcher really but seemed to excel at finding there own game
-
She is a beating dog not doing any picking up
-
She doesn't really tire she works woods and bracken ok always get her on a lead near game crop until I have a bit more confidence in her not to run in just spoke to the keeper he said he has a kennel spare if I think she is tiring will see how she goes tomorrow
-
It's my spaniels first season ive got 4 days beating this week is this too much for her I'm thinking of leaving her home at least one day out of the 4 she was spot on today I'm out tomorrow was thinking about leaving her tomorrow she is my first gundog and I really don't want to mess things up with her how often should she be out in her first season or is it a case the more the better

Sorry for your loss RIP Stan

I never said off razor I said out of his brother and mine did everything definitely not cowardly worked with ferrets all his life very good at it aswell but I have heard very good things about the stuff from razor himself
-
Bill I've got to say you spout more shit than mark brick ever did your so convinced that everything you have is the best and everything you say is true ive seen some really big line bred saluki greyhound that would take most things out and I had a dog out of the razors brother that was nuts on teeth and would work every night it just depends how a dog is brought up in my opinion as for fallow ive seen a collie cross kelpie greyhound that has had lots of them depends on the ground and I don't think your gs greyhound would be any faster he just had a really good strike unfortunately hit by a car
-
My mate had a deer hound greyhound x collie greyhound was a really good dog strange as he didn't rate either parents as outstanding but something gelled in the pups he still has a grandson of the dog mostly collie greyhound now but still got a deer hound coat in him not seen it graft but if he has kept him ive no doubt it can work
