I don't think anyone was saying you can't have a decent ferret unless you dig I won't keep small ferrets as the sets I work have large tunnels and the rabbits just dragged them around I was offered a large hob years ago now and it was problem solved yes I dig alot more on some sets but they are shallow so I'm not bothered, my ferrets suit me and what I want

My ferrets are getting dug to every set by January not that we being noisy but its only ever one hole non of mine ever get dragged around a set don't matter what they eat dry or raw doesn't make a difference

The pup I've got at the moment is ok with other people and dogs my mates lurcher couldn't get on with her so he swapped with the pup I was getting off a mate both are border greyhounds and they both seem really outgoing and forward the one I've got is from Hancock's out of a dog called rasputin she's 17 weeks broke to stock and ferrets she's alot more outgoing than any other collie crosses I've had but time will tell at the moment she is a pleasure to be with

I've used my ferrets to bolt rats for years there bred biggest job to biggest jill and only ever bred off Jill's that work rats I don't think that young lad gives a shit about you thinking it's a greyhound ferret or not

Can you all be careful if you pass a dog on that the ownership is transferred to the new owner I got a email on Sunday saying a dog I had passed on was found in Sheffield and it was illegal to dump a dog this dog went about October I did my part to change the details they never I messaged him told him where she was and passed his number on to the kennels he hasn't replied to any calls from them I rang up today and they told me a car was seen dumping her so that's why they were arsy with me I can't have her back as not got the work hence reason she went in the first place I wasn't going to put

I don't need speed where I run but I've seen a few dogs get hurt because they were too fast for where I run if I hadn't already been gifted a pup I would of took one without any hesitation

If I hadn't already been offered a pup before these were born I would of took one we run some really rough ground we were taking the farmers collie with us last year it put up and caught 13 rabbits one day in sedge grass and bracken the same dog has killed over a dozen foxes i think it depends more on the collie used and both parents work so I don't see the problem not fast enough for everyone but they will have uses

I mostly use hobs now they kill alot for the first couple of seasons then slow down as they get older most of the ground I work is 3ft at most I want them to stay till dug out we dug out about a third of what we caught last year
