  1. Ric On the face of it the .204 has a lot going for it, the reality is charts are not field work, the calibre is exceptionally fussy and has a tendancy to surface splash, so the book says good, field work says think carefully! I have ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST in a .204! ATB! What would you be interested in I guess 223? This bullet splash, would it really be that bad on a fox? I can understand on a coyote but I would have thought it would do enough damage to a fox wherever it hit. I have no experience with the 204 so I can't make an informed opinion. Im concerned the 32 or 33g
  2. ha ha nutter. Yeah, but look on the bright side. If it is the end of the world there's no point mowing the lawn. Ric
  3. Chuck Hawks's MPBR chart gives the maximum range at which a bullet aimed on the crosshairs with no adjustment for drop will be no more than 1.5" high or low, from under the muzzle to the MPBR for the .204 MPBR is 275yds, for .22-250 it is 260 yds. Zero the .204 1.1" high at 100 yds and at any range from 0-275yds it will be no more than +/- 1.5" high or low. That's with 33gn BT @ 4225fps MV Ric.
  4. Alice in Wonderland. Wind in the Willows. Winnie the Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner. A bit later, Robinson Crusoe, Gulliver's Travels. Then when I was nine, I read The Naked and the Dead and asked me Dad what "Fughin'" meant. This did not go down well . . . Ric
  5. Fox gun? .204 full stop end of. If you might want small deer later, has to be .223, legal on munties and CWD. Favourite though would be .204 now, then .243 later.
  6. England and Wales .243 min 1700 ft.lbs ME. As for deer.
  7. Could you put up some lynx?
  8. Yous guys who wanted Maggie back? You've got her. F**k the poor, look after the fatcats.

I've heard of badger baiting, but rabbit baiting? Vicious little buggers these rabbits. Actually, it reads as though the poachers are putting rabbits out as bait for the deer. Two men caught killing a deer get a caution?
  10. Hah. There's always a perfectly good reason. Check the time of me posts. Then think lasties down the pub, back mine, Owd Rosie 8.7%, and if ye dinna like it I'll see yez oot the back. Ya wee, er, time to be Mr Nice Guy. Have a nice day. That's an order. Ric :db:
  11. I suspect it might cause problems for an FAC, but the police have to show that YOU are not a "fit person" to hold an SGC. As long as you don't have a medical history showing that you are as mad as a snake you should be OK. Anyway, if you don't ask you won't get! The worst they can do is say no FFS! Ric
  12. Apparently it's "deed not breed". Google "dangerous dogs act scotland"
  13. I'm not coming the old acid here mate, but if you're new to shooting, over 100 yds is a long shot at a rabbit with a .22lr. Better to keep below odd until you're used to the drop. Ric
  14. I read yesterday that the Dangerous Dogs Act, Scotland has been amended to remove specific breeds and make it apply to any dog that is not under proper control. Anyone know any more about this? Sounds sensible to me but I can't imagine any politician doing anything sensible. Ric
  15. Can't argue with the scoreline chaps. ENGLAND 17 FRANCE 9. The Rosbifs whacked the Frogs. END OF.
  16. Good choice! The Remi 700 may not be the best "out of the box" but it is the dog's dodgy bits for tuning and tweaking. Pretty good to start with any way. A lot of people in the States started with a Remi, moved to a different action, got peed off and ended up back with a Remi! It strikes me as one of those things you can't predict. The Remi action just works with the .204. Keep us posted. ATB, Ric
  17. I made an appointment with my Chinese dentist. At Tooth Hurtee. The old 'uns are still . . .boring!
  18. Optimal performance from a .204? 26" heavy barrel, ~40gr bullets, accurate 1/11 twist.
  19. Imperial 24" = Metric 60.96cm. The law says "24" or 60 cm". Err on the safe side, cut to just over 24". If you hacksaw it down to 24+a bit, file or coarse emery round the inside to get rid of the sharp edges. FFS we're not talking about recrowning a target rifle here!
  20. "Damien Fowkes, who was serving a 12 year sentence for armed robbery, has been arrested for the murder of Colin Hatch, who was serving life for the assault and murder of 8-year old Sean Williams. Raise a glass to Damien.
  21. OK, I'll turn this round. Having worked as a knitter most of me life I was made redundant in 1997, and there was no chance I'd ever get another job in knitwear 'cos there is no knitwear manufacturing left in this country. While I was on the rock'n'roll I did a bit of painting and decorating - I'm quite good with a paint brush, and hang a mean roll of paper - and gardening. All cash in hand, fiver an hour and no names no pack drill. Was I a benefit cheat? By the book I was. Or was I a guy trying to earn a few bob and fluck the system? Remember these were one-off jobs. And working for our Asian
