  1. No problem Ric, but I'll need a taste tester, what're you doing middle of next week? Take at least that long to get all that gear set up Kwl. Just let me get my NBC suit out the wardrobe . ..
  2. That makes three threads. Any advance?
  3. Back off with the piss-taking. We all had to learn sometime. Lurcher, the two calibres you are looking at to start with are .22lr and .17HMR. I, and I think most shooters, would say .22lr. It's a very versatile round, the most popular in the world. Can kill rabbits up to 120 yards but only if you are a really good shot. Think of it as a -100 yard gun. Rabbits, greys on the ground, crows and pigeons on the ground, even fox out to say 40 yards. Great fun for popping paper out of season. BUT! Don't even think about firing up into a tree! It can be lethal at 500 yards. Only ever shoot if you can s
  4. Accepted. I honestly thought, from the poor quality film, that it was of a monkey or baboon. Given the truth, I apologise. Not funny at all
  5. There's half the problem: "They were really cute". These idjits see a luvly likkle furwwy pupsy wupsy, and . . . fools rush in. The cute pup turns into a big energenetic adult that needs a lot of exercise and a lot of input of time. The owner can't be ars-d, and the dog ends up turning bad through boredom. But what's the answer? Licensing?
  6. what the feck Pet baboon with clothes on. Posts on here a lot.
  7. Crop-spraying plane, tanks filled with Zyklon B. LOADSA dead wabbits. Birds. Wats. Mouses. Pipple. Deer. Goats. Foxes. Owt that moves.
  8. You can load a 6.5 x 68 to launch a 95gr V max at over 4000 fps. Yup,it's a barrel burner. Popular on the Continent tho. Mountain goat at 500 yds.
  9. Read the article properly. The rabbis told the kids outside to throw stones at the dog to drive it away. No story that way though so the paper did a Sun.
  10. that ^^ ?? I am referring to supersonic .22lr, not s/s in general
  11. Yup. The caterpiggles feed on nettles. The adults love buddleia.
  12. The trouble is that supersonics are, so to speak, not very super sonic. By ~100 yds max, they drop below the speed of sound, and as they pass through the transonic zone the ballistics go to hell-in-a-handbag. They can yaw, tumble and keyhole and at least they just plain lose accuracy. The extra hitting power tends to be offset by inability to put 'em where they'll do most good. Ric
  13. Wombles yes; Clangers no; Soup Dragons at your own risk.
  14. My 20-year old daughter came to stay last year and I bought her first tat, a Lady GaGa clone, for her birthday. Then I thought "This is daft. I've always fancied a tat and me lass has beaten me to it! Get on the case chap." They are addictive aren't they? Ric
  15. Like I said, I just had my first tat last year when I was 62. I'm now up to four! If I regret it in 30 years time . . . I should live so long!
  16. I've been using Dermol medicated cream. Works for me . . . Can we take this thread on a bit? I had my first tat last year. I was 62 and just thought go for it! Big - 8" long - scorpion on me right forearm.
  17. That's what bugs me. Just as the tat itself heals, THE BLOODY BRISTLES START TO ITCH!
  18. You cheeky old cnut! OK, I'm 63 and started getting the tats I might have had when I was your age. SO? Oot the back jimmy.
  19. This won't concern the lassies who like skin art but . . . I had a classy portrait on my left calf last week. The lass who did the tat shaved me leg. Now it itches like ffcckk as the hair grows back! Anyone else bothered by this?
  20. I'm not sure bro. Herring and black backed were taken off General Licence in England last year, but not in Scotland. May have changed now. Can you be sure which is which at 100 yds?
  21. Check General Licence Scotland. I think you'll find Herring Gulls, Greater Black Backed and Lesser Black Backed gulls are still on General Licence up your way.
  22. 14" is all you need. See my post ".22lr barrel length."
  23. I like fixed mag. You get better quality by not spending on variable mag, so as I said I'd go for 6x42 or 8x56. A lot of guys prefer zooms though. Yer pays yer money and yer takes yer choice!
