You don't have to put calibre/bore down for your SGC, nor do you need to specify land. Just apply. The fuzz have to prove you are not a "fit person" to hold an SGC. At 15 you can hold a licence, but not buy gun or ammo. Look at the thread at the top of this page!

Notice the sharp rise in immigration from 1997 onwards, followed by almost double the numbers from 2004 until 2009. All Labour years and I stand by my assertion that immigrants vote more often than not Labour so they are importing voters, even though it is to the detrement of this country. I think we may be getting at cross purposes here guys. All .22 centrefires are ".220" calibre. The ".220 Swift" is the most powerful of them all. It's a quarter-mile fox dropper. .222, .223, .22-250, .220 Swift are all the same calibre.. The chambering is very different. Remember that "calibre" is defined as the internal diameter of the barrel measured across the lands. For example, .243, 6mmbr, H&H.244, Weatherby Magnum .240 are all the same calibre. Very different ballistics though!

Some forces are dead leary about granting .22lr for fox. Put down "for the purpose of" rabbit, other vermin and opportunistic fox. At interview say that you won't be looking for fox, but if one pops its head out of a hedge 30 yards away you will take the shot. That said, 22lr is not really up to serious foxing. Maximum range on Charley is 50yds. Try for a CF, as suggested by some other guys. Would Derboy be willing to monitor you with a CF? that would increase your chance of getting a CF no end. Yes you can and should apply for more than one calibre. They can only say no! AT

Just googled "Mink". The American mink, which is what we have in Britain, weighs 1 kilo, 2.2 lbs, in the wild. Farmed males can reach 3.2 kg, 7.1 lbs. Might give a Chihuahua problems.

If you want to become a serious rifle shooter you start with a .22 lr. Full stop, end of. Don't push the range, 75 yds will put a lot of wabbits in your bag. HANG ON GUYS! .22lr on fox to max 50yds head shot is ok. But Dadioles also asked about Muntjac. NO WAY. Legal minimum is .220 CENTREFIRE, !000 ft.lbs. Hornet isn't powerful enough. .222,.223, .22-250, .220 Swift. Likewise CWD.

Remember a while back a ditzy old lady left everything to the Arsepack? Her daughter took it to court and had the will overturned. The Arsepack threw a hissy fit and appealed. The announcement was published today. In plain English the appeal judges told the Arsepack they were a bunch of cheeky chancers, refused leave to appeal further and awarded costs against them. Dudes and dudettes raise a glass to the appeal court judges! Ric

I was about 14, just started killing paper, when I read about the Swift. Fell head over heels in love! 4200 fps, 48gr sintered iron bullet that fragmented on impact. Holy flukken shit! Blagged a day out with one. Awesome. Fast, flat, lethal on foxes to 500 yds. Kicks like a good 'un tho'! The Swift got a rep as a barrel burner, but that was because people were shooting it on ranges and firing a lot of rounds in a short time. Not what you do with a CF in the field. It is still favourite with a lot of ghillies on the Scots moors as a quarter-mile fox-dropper. Want one for me birthda
