As it happens Malt, I've just been pondering on the subject further................ If we assume a fart is roughly equally dispersive in three dimensional space (like a growing balloon) and human smell is proportional to chemical concentration then the strength of smell should follow the inverse square law.......... basically if you double the distance the strength is quartered. So assuming farting in the bath reduces the distance of necessary dispersion by half it increases the strength by a factor of four! Hence such a significant and noticeable effect. This is the beginning of a peer re

There's no special reactions or anything it's simply down to entropy and the dispersion of one gas in another. Simply put, when you fart in the bath the effective distance over which the 'fart' will desperse is significantly reduced, making it more concentrated and smell stronger. I imagine other factors like clothing causing a more gradual 'release' will have the effect of reducing concentration as well as other environmental factors. Fart science........................

That's you and 99% of the rest of England then! WHAT'S THAT?...........YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO SPEAK UP............... MY EAR DRUMS ARE BLEEDING FROM THE SCREAMS OF ABUSE AT THE TV SATURDAY NIGHT............. I watched the match with a former pro and his family, between the effing and blinding I managed to pick up a few bits. LOL.

Anybody got an emoticon for a kid walking down the street with a fat bottom lip, head down and hands in his pockets kicking seven bells out of any can or bin he comes across?

My passion for rugby has been short lived.............. it's a stupid f***ing game!

I think it's fair to say that there's a bit more to it than that?

No shooting sheep and having EVERY f****r on the land if its a running dog thats been shot is very common.same with a pet dog. Like i said ive been in the situation a few times and sometimes its better just to say if your dog isnt under control in here i will be in my rights to shoot it.how much does your avarage sheep cost ?? A couple of hundred ??? Is it really worth having all your equipment nicked your car f****d ect. Im not against shooting dogs ive done it before and under the right circumstance i would do it again. BUT its all too easy for gamekeepers and landowners to say they will

Fitchet, Just had their dog shot yeah of course they're going to be irrate! But I don't consider that agro really, you just deal with it and get on with your life. The example you gave was very different though, having sheep shot with crossbows............. ongoing damage and revenge like that will be a rarity. Malt, you're right, the farmer broke the law because the dogs were not at the time of shooting at least a threat to his stock.
-
It doesn't cause any hassle if done legally. It's done obviously to prevent hundreds if not thousands of pounds worth of damage to your livelihood. Yes it does. You ever shot one or been there when ones been shot by a landowner ?? I saw one shot a couple of weeks ago for worrying sheep and the landowner done all that was necessary to stay within the law but even the police spoke to him like shit. The sheep have since been shot at with crossbows fences turned off farm equipment stolen windows smashed ect. So to anyone whos shot stock worriers before was it worth it ? Right, so one

They weren't worrying stock when handed over to him, therefore he had no legal right to shoot them. It's a cuntish thing to do and he's gonna get f****d for it. Maybe they had killed a few and they had stopped, who knows??? Lab, what the bloke did was absolutely illegal. Yeah maybe they had been stock worriers but I didn't get that impression from the report. But let's face it, it's a newspaper report, anything could of happened............. My gut would say he's a very angry old farmer, shoots first and send flowers later type, that has a zero tollerance policy to loose dogs on his

I'm just gonna interject here, you're making the comparison between power athletes and endurance athletes whereas many so called body builders aren't really either. They are training purely for mass not performance. It's akin to somebody that enjoys getting their dogs to the peak of physical condition without giving a damn how it can perform athletically or at work. I'm not knocking it and understand why bodybuilders do it, just pointing out that it's not about physical ability for a bodybuilder.

Yup cause not many ex squaddies turn to armed robbery ! The chap wasn't just an ex squaddie though was he? He was 22 regt. tasked with training Iraqi forces and commended for it with a gift from them................. Now I accept that he should not have had an illegally held firearm and ammunition in his private posession but IF what he has said is true (which is up to the relavent authorities to decide) then I think the fact that his profession is what it is makes the entire situation perfectly understandable.

Sometimes it's better to just swallow the shit you're being fed and walk away wiser. I'd be having a word with the man in person. Remind him of the facts, play it from there.

It'll work out better for the beaters surely? Just getting the VAT back on a decent coat would more than recoup the income tax payed for beating, never mind everything else! Am I being naive or is that really the case? If it is, crack on HMRC!

That's a gutter jiggy! You seem to have ya head screwed on right with regards it all though and face it as the reality of working the dogs we do. Fortunately you had your rifle with you.

Learn as though you will live forever, live as though you will die tomorrow.

You're right, as Chid has proven. Take no notice of ya mate.

As Malt and Socks have pointed out, we don't know the full facts................ however I'd say it's fair to assume he was blagging it based on the fact he's been sacked. Employers have a hell of a time sacking people these days with unfair dismissal cases so I'd hazard a fair guess he's cheated and been caught fair and square.

Bang to rights there I'm afraid!

In the UK the whole philiosphy of tipping is discretion and as such should not be printed on the bill. It just cheapens a place and leaves the customer feeling a bit uncomfortable. I don't like making a fuss, I'll pay the bill even if the food is substandard, I'll tip if I feel they deserve it. If the food or service is shit I'll just pay the bill and not go back, that simple for me. The waitresses at Hooters always seem to get a good tip though!
