  1. I'll give you one thing though Alsone, that's an interesting site. Fair play for pointing me at it.
  2. And if you bothered to read the article you'll realise it's talking about the 25 very specifically for use on medium game! So Fallow sized animals. It doesn't even really touch on the 25-06 for use on Fox sized game which require a lower velocity to generate the instant kills than medium sized game does due to the proximity of the shot to the CNS and the softer composition of the body. It does NOT draw a comparison between the two as a varmint round, never mind claim the 22-250 to be "by far the best". How can you even claim one calibre the best all round varmint round anyway when varmints
  3. 2 woodcock I heard eh buddy! Nice going. My first ever shot on a drive also got me a woodcock. Feather in the cap - done! That was my best day, until earlier this week.... 3 Roe, 1 cull Fallow Buck and 2 bloody monster Bucks with matching heads, lol...... Amongst a few varmints too.
  4. I'm very biased and inexperienced for that matter, hence why I would not like to say what's best. Just found a few amusing quotes from the links given that might bring into question the previous conclusion of "By far the best varmint round for all ranges seems to be .22-250:". LOL, oh yeah, I had nearly forgotten about the best 2 days of my shooting life.
  5. It's worth remembering that how the bullet behaves terminally is just as important as how it behaves ballisticaly. And that's not so easy to quantify with charts and tables. "There are times when I have been asked - what is the flattest shooting, hardest hitting cartridge with the least amount of recoil. Hands down the .25-06 has these attributes." "The .25-06 is truly spectacular for its size. Low recoil for maintaining good shooting habits, outstanding accuracy, a flat trajectory and tremendous shock on game are hallmarks of this greatly under utilized cartridge."
  6. Why not just request a variation on the ammo quantity, you have good reason, then just make a trip to a decent gun shop and buy in bulk?
  7. If the eyes get itchy then Opticrom eye drops work a treat. Any drops with Sodium Cromoglicate in will sort the itching.
  8. Only antihistamines I found worth the money were Piriton but made me really drowsy. The sporadic sneezing didn't/doesn't bother me and it hasn't affected my sinuses too much, it was the itchy eyes that got me. I itch them red raw! Not so bad this year though for some reason. Usually kicks in late Feb and lasts till June.
  9. Exactly the same happened to me. I'd say you've developed hay fever Mo, it's not uncommon at all. I went from perhaps having the very occasional sneeze in spring to suddenly one spring wanting to claw my own eyeballs out.
  10. I'm happy with them, they sorted my 25-06 variation smoothly and fairly. But seem to ignore the home office regards anything larger than 22CF for fox and seem more strict on open tickets than Linc's.
  11. I had you down as a bit of a Steven.......Cassandras boss at the bank the one who asked Del what a female swan was and he said a Bik I believe the term is 'yuppy'? I'm a geek, not a wanker!
  12. Don't forget Boycie, everyone knows a Boycie! Tbh I think that I'm pretty far removed from all of them. LOL. I'm more Big Bang Theory, not so much Only Fools and Horses.
  13. I applied for my FAC with Linc's. Mid-late December sent off, received it by mid Feb. Always been good with me. I'm with Nott's now though. A couple of mates renewed their SCs in summer with Linc's and got temporary certs sent out as there was such a delay. Nott's are okay too but seem to make their own rules up. Linc's seem more relaxed.
  14. Unfortunately jiggy won't be able to comment further... He's in government quarantine! Watch the news for further developments. LOL LOL
  15. Ah, yeah projected. Well we now live in a country where defence features right at the bottom of priorities for both the left and right! Nobody gives a f**k about the first responsibility of government anymore. Hence, in a popularity contest it aint gonna feature very strongly.
  16. It ain't mate, defence is around the 40B mark.
  17. Oh hang on divide that by 7, as only a seventh of those were trained abroad. Lol. f**k me what's that now... about £15M per year?
  18. So assuming those stats are correct it'll cost the tax payer £3.5B to train nurses. That's over the average working life of our nurses, say 40 years? So about £91M per year....
  19. No, LOL. I quite like dark hair and a million quid wouldn't change that.
  20. If you want to know what happens when a T8 fails, ask DanW....
  21. For Bosun, Leonard Nimoy - Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town: I hope that's what you wanted because I hadn't the foggiest what I was looking for.
  22. I see different every time I look at it! Complete mind f**k.
  23. Go on then tomo, stick a couple pics up! LOL
  24. Talk about 15 yr olds today all preened and proud, listening to half you lot with your fred perrys etc I'm at a loss as to the difference! When I was 15 I wore none descript baggy jeans and a white T-shirt. Mostly covered in grass stains, mud and/or fish slime. LOL. Any money I had come in my direction was better spent on fishing tackle or my mountain bike transport!
