  1. I'm in bits mate really, please don't call me a name again, I can't manage it. That and the arrogance is too much.
  2. Well that makes me the worst kind of arsehole. LOL f**k you...
  3. It'll be very difficult to understand what was going on in his head. The man just wasn't right upstairs and did something f***ing horrendous because of that. I think it terrifies most of us that otherwise regular normal folks do things like this. It's easy to consider them monsters in some way. But I genuinely believe none of us are any different, subject someone to the right stimulus and they may very well react in a similar way. He was a weak man that broke.
  4. Does the scrap price roughly track the iron ore price? I guess it would, both being the raw product for the steel industry right? The ore price is rock bottom and looks to drop further. Just curious...
  5. He won't have been the first. There's a history of it in aviation, never mind more regular lifestyles.
  6. I'm patriotic through and through, enough of my family have served in the past. I just don't want people to think that if it came to another war we would walk it. Our technology may have improved but I bet the Argies have upped their game as well.We underestimated them last time, we shouldn't make that mistake again. I wasn't questioning your patriotism mate. Our tech is cutting edge, their's has barely moved in 30 years. We didn't walk it the first time and certainly wouldn't walk it this time. But as Mal said, the islands are very well protected. They would need a lot more than hindsight
  7. Retaking the islands without a carrier would be a f***ing nightmare. I'm not even sure what we're arguing about. LOL I just think a bit more of what we have and what the task force did than you seem to. Fair enough mate, we all have our own opinions.
  8. I don't think anybody is considering our tech infallible, just superior. Likewise, Defence chiefs knew it wouldn't be a walk in the park, they gave a realistic assessment, followed through with great strategic and tactical planning and as a result had a resounding success. Look at the Argy air force... how exactly are they going to 'bombard' the islands? There's a squadron of Typhoons there to keep them getting anywhere near the islands. And their are Rapier instalments to protect the air bases if anything slips past the typhoons. Just look at their military it's on it's arse. They'd need
  9. We didn't just sink the Belgrano, those three torpedoes effectively sank the entire Argentine Navy! The British task force fought a war on the back foot on the other side of the planet, in the back yard of the enemy, at a time when guided bombs were in their infancy of operational use and without loosing a single battle. It was a piece of military excellence.
  10. f***ing Russians again! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/southamerica/falklandislands/11493134/Russia-questions-Britains-claim-to-the-Falklands-as-garrison-reinforced.html Britain will send two troop-carrying Chinook helicopters and new surface-to-air missile system to the Falkland Islands, amid fears Russia could be arming the Argentine government. Michael Fallon, the Defence Secretary, said the Islands will be ready to repel “any potential threat” following reports that the Kremlin is preparing to lease 12 Su-24 long range bombers to Buenos Aires in exchange for beef an
  11. The single type 45 destroyer thats there on station now could track and engage every single argie military aircraft they own. All at the same time. Also, 'I think' RAF Tornadoes are capable of carrying out black buck type raids, this time with guided munitions (a similar op was carried out when bombing Libya). And we have sub launched cruise missiles with which we could strike mainland targets. The Royal Navy would/could leave any invading force completely isolated from the mainland. All that is predicated on them actually being able to invade in the first place.
  12. If I recall they didn't set the fuses on their bombs properly (can't remember the details) so a lot of them didn't go off. Also they were f***ing terrified of our Harriers and their superior sidewinders so daren't get close enough to the carrier with their Exocets to give even a hope of a hit. Even if they had effective bombs I can't imagine it'd of changed much, but I can't remember off hand how many/which of our ships they actually hit. Not that that would make any bearing in a modern conflict. Our modern air defence destroyers would take care of anything the Argy air force came to battl
  13. Argentina was founded on an act of genocide! It's a bit f***ing rich them trying to take the moral high ground on some Islands we colonised with little effort at a time when everybody was island grabbing in the name of king and country.
  14. Typhoons and subs will bring them to their senses if so.
  15. LOL. Okay, do you really think Argentina are a threat? I just can't see them risking round two when the difference in capability between the two of us is even larger now than it was back then. Yeah, we haven't got carriers, but we don't need carriers to defend the islands. I wonder how much of this is politically motivated as a cheap way to appease the traditionally Defence minded Conservatives in the UK who feel disillusioned with the continued cuts and weakening of our armed forces. Better?

    Diets

Yep, a lot of folks originally did these fasting diets for the alleged health benefits from an 'evolutionarily' more natural diet. But they caught on with the weight loss crowd too.
  17. Half a dozen good terriers would soon make a hole in them ! Never mind terriers. I'd be calling the British embassy to request an air strike! Terriers would just add to the mayhem leaving me in even more of a state! LOL
  18. That would emotionally break me! Literal Hell right there! I'd be a f***ing wreck and couldn't be held responsible for my actions! There would be carnage... probably murders.
  19. The problem is more fundamental than Westminster politics or right/left, the problem is with democracy, it doesn't work! LOL How on Earth can we expect to get any sense out of the system when people that don't even understand what a deficit is, how GDP differs to revenue or the ins and outs of geopolitics are allowed to vote! And in most cases probably dominate the vote! If a democracy is to ever work, hard decisions have to be accepted by those that vote and so education on 'politics' has to be of utmost importance. We get the politicians we deserve... I'm in favour of a super
  20. The General License only pertains to birds. All other legitimate quarry species are covered by different legislation.
  21. Just shows how difrent folk view things,,,, stood outside watching it with the Mrs,,,,i thought it was pretty lame really,,, and I'm just a handful of miles from you Yeah, you're right, folks view it different. But then that's because we're all made different I suppose. I'm not sure if people expect day to turn to night or something. In reality even that 15% of direct sunlight is still hellish bright and the light just dips a bit and is slightly filtered.
  22. Clear sky here in Nott's. Pretty awesome experience once again.
  23. I'm probably not grasping it tbh BH, i know next to nothing about genetics mate, but iv'e always thought the Celts had a big influence on European bloodlines, if its identifiable in the European blood that supposedly populated the UK, why is it not identifiable now in us? But reading the article Beast posted it looks like the Celtic influence is a myth anyway, seems more cultural than genetic? Funny how this other study found plenty of Scandinavian influence and the other one hardly any? Like the old saying goes "you can prove/disprove anything with statistics" The two studies
  24. My understanding is that there isn't any such thing is a genetically identifiable Celtic blood in the British Isles, it's a mixture of individual genetic populations with a common cultural heritage. I'm sure Anglo saxons and 'celtic' people will share common ancestors as well as having mixed occasionally. But why would that make any difference to this data?
