He says that's the hardest thing he's ever done mentally...... and he's former SBS! I keep meaning to watch it.

Not even close mate.

I've had one for a few years now and can't really fault it. I hardly use it these days but if I had a sensible number of rabbits to get into then I'd be very grateful to have that particular tool in the box. -
Nope, f**k you. Not fooling me again.

Having a bit of experience with it now how do you feel it compares to other rimfire cartridges for what you do? -
Prostate disease in dogs
Born Hunter replied to Born Hunter's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Thanks, I'm probably not going to breed from him as I don't keep bitches, but it's a bit final Also, the diagnosis is a little too far from being conclusive for my liking at the moment. Of course I could pay hundreds of pounds for that but if it's not 'serious' is that really necessary? He's been off the ABX for a week now with no sign of worsening. I suspect he did have a UTI as well which was cleared up quickly but fundamentally caused by enlarged prostate. At the moment I'm inclined to give it six weeks, monitoring his condition and make a decision then. I may end up having -
Three weeks ago I opened the kennel to see the spaniel had passed quite a lot of blood in his urine. To the point rich coagulated clumps had passed. Anyway he's had two weeks of antibiotics for possible UTI and had his prostate checked at the time with no sign of enlargement/inflammation so assumed UTI. It did pretty much clear up but by the end of the course (and still now) there's blood visible in his urine when his bladder is almost empty. No visible blood when he has his first few big pees, only really when he's pretty much empty and then none of the really rich blood. The dog is and has b

Cheers mate

Little fella now he’s filled out a bit. Still only small. My situation changed a bit middle of last season just before he should’ve been asked to step up. So he didn’t get a whole heap his first season. Few bits and finished well. He’s ‘going’, which is all that really matters to me.

Nice. I assume that was flushed this time of year? Will it bolt them?

Voting shelved on Europe-wide lead shot ban

I'm currently testing depleted Uranium from my reactor in the shed. Watch this space..... (at a safe distance and with sufficient shielding!) -
Voting shelved on Europe-wide lead shot ban
Born Hunter replied to paddyluke's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
It's not stupidity, it's obviously by design, for ease of policing. If they had allowed that loophole, then literally nothing would've been shot with non-toxic! "It was over a field Officer" LOL In fact, even without that loophole it's arguable that the rules are almost completely ignored anyway. -
That’d be a hell of a thing. There used to be a traditional bull run type event at Stamford.

Voting shelved on Europe-wide lead shot ban
Born Hunter replied to paddyluke's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I don't care to argue the rights and wrongs of lead. My only points were correcting you on the statement about a BASC "ban" and pointing out that the actual European ban is only part of the story behind BASCs decision to support a community level transition to non toxic. In fact, no where in the BASC statement did they mention the actual proposed European ban but they do mention market pressure a few times. https://www.gunsonpegs.com/articles/cartridges/lead-shot-read-the-joint-statement-in-full -
Voting shelved on Europe-wide lead shot ban
Born Hunter replied to paddyluke's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I have no idea. But a huge proportion of game that is shot is not consumed by the person who pulled the trigger. Commercial estates represent the bulk of the market and arguably the bulk of our communities political clout. If they don't get their house in order the little man will become collateral. No, they have called for it to be phased out voluntarily. You would still legally be able to use lead........ because it's voluntary. They haven't proposed lobbying for legislative change. So it isn't a ban is it. I don't really care who fights the corner of lead or if BASC or wankers, -
Voting shelved on Europe-wide lead shot ban
Born Hunter replied to paddyluke's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
There's two sides to this, one is a legislative ban and one is an industry ban. It'll still be catastrophic to shooting sports if leads legal but consumers and retailers of game won't accept it without non-toxic alternatives. Given the recent floor smashing drop in game value and simultaneous food industry (consumers & retailers) driven rejection of lead shot this headline is only partly significant imo. Also, I don't think BASC called for a ban on lead, they called for a voluntary community level shift away from it. A voluntary ban is a contradiction. -
You wait, one day an Asian will turn up, not win and you'll have hell to pay!

Always fancied a bit of that cheese rolling.

I reckon Socks donned the chaps and offered to go out with him and was turned down, now he's out to tarnish the fella's name!

We had a few pollack and mackerel. I was just using ultra light spinning gear, little 4g lure with spinning tail, jellies etc. Nothing particularly serious. It's pretty cool entering their world though and taking a dive. First shot with the polespear and I had a BIG wrasse. I made the rookie mistake of pulling the spear back and it got off, I should've finned hard into it. I'm somewhere at the bottom of the learning curve!

I had a spin by the lighthouse last week. Was good fun and I’m not really a fisherman. I was most excited by seeing the Type 45 destroyer moored up! Ha I came home before the weather turned at the end of the week. Had my first go spear fishing too (not Portland).

The cool thing about it is that there’s no animatronics and hardly any CGI. They spent six week off the cape filming legit shark encounters for the film. He’d love it!

The box office bomb Dark Tide, mostly because I like the theme and Halle Berry Its about a rich wanker who pays for her expertise in free diving with great whites. Shit goes a little sideways. Dunno why it was such a bomb, seen tons worse.

A fella who has the worst luck with his online ACME purchases!
