  1. Sweet. They had B2s down there not so long ago flying with our F-35s. Mean combo! When I lived in Linc's I totally took it for granted seeing the Vulcan, Lancaster, Spitfires, AWACS, Tornadoes, Harriers etc. Week in week out. The Tonka's were my favourite, almost always paired up ripping by low and fast. Proper death or glory strike fighter.
  2. And still better than all the state of the art CGI that's overused in films today! I'd pay to see Stargate on the big screen too.
  3. Ah fair. I just read it with the wrong tone.
  4. Were you being sarcastic or a dick before? I assumed you were being a dick. I apologise if you were not.
  5. I wouldn't ask YOU to do anything. Less I could have to do with you the happier I'd be.
  6. Does no one listen to anything I say on here. Been banging on about that for ages! Almost anything from Taylor Sheridan is gold.
  7. We should really consider selling the BBC while it's still worth something. Some LA liberal-elite sort would cum in their fairtrade frappuccino to own it.
  8. What's the view on this cheap offering? HIK Vision Vulkan
  9. You literally just have to wait the stated time and then hit refresh and it'll work. No idea why it does it.
  10. Bang on mate. I’m not getting veg patches and all that carry on, I just won’t keep up with it, but fruit I reckon I’ll manage and will save me a few quid perhaps.
  11. I'm in the process of moving house and one of the things I want is a fruit garden. I have no natural aptitude for keeping stuff alive but I eat tons of berries so going to give this a go. The plot I have in mind in is about 6mx4m. At the moment my only thoughts are autumn fruiting raspberries, because you can plant them at a higher density. I'd appreciate any advice....
  12. Not a film but I found the series Justified a couple weeks ago and smashed it! All about outlaws and lawmen in the backwoods of Kentucky...
  13. I'm quite firmly of the belief that 'racism' is the view that the human species can be categorised into separate races and that those races can be ranked in a hierarchy with the top most likely to flourish, dominate and survive the others. There's nothing inherently evil about that 'theory'. It can be wrong and it can be used to justify evil but racism in it's fundamental form is innocent like any other idea of how the world works. Prejudice that is based on racism needs a different name imo but these days we just lump it all in together.
  14. Fair one mate, I'll hold my hands up because I think I was wrong. I recalled a piece he wrote about his time with some blacks which convinced him that they were simply uncivilised, rather than uncivilisable, so to speak. He was also a vocal abololitionist which sort of stands in contrast to racist views (at the time). So again, fair one, it looks like I was mistaken.
  15. I might be totally wrong, hang on. I was almost sure as it struck me as bold considering his time and research.
  16. I honestly haven't done a whole heap of reading on race related science. I'm more interested in anthropology/evolution.
  17. We're definitely not all equal. Nature is full of inequality and hierarchies. It's just quite how far we run with that where we will find disagreement. An obvious example is sprint and distance events at the Olympics. Blindingly obvious racial inequality.
  18. Just wanted to say, I know that mate and that's why we can have a sensible discussion about it. I'm not going to get all emotional if i can't 'prove' my beliefs and I doubt you will either. I'm not convinced that there's significant differences, genetically, between us in the UK and a pygmy in the Bronx zoo like I errr more towards other factors as the explanation. BUT that doesn't mean I have to accept Somalia's finest as my neighbours. But I don't really want this to go down that political route and I doubt you do either. I think we're doing just fine keeping this separate from o
  19. Talking about hunting megafauna, I'm part way through reading this cool paper I found, Elephant and Mammoth Hunting during the Paleolithic: A Review of the Relevant Archaeological, Ethnographic and Ethno-Historical Records It's worth a read, even if you just skim out the sections that catch your attention.
  20. I said western Europeans mate. The Roman empire was another Mediterranean civilisation that followed Greece etc etc. The earliest civilisation that we know of is arguably Gobleki Tepe in Turkey, not far from the Med'. The Romans arguably spread proper civilisation throughout Europe. But it all started in the middle east. Of course the Romans didn't bring us the neolithic/agriculture, that predates them but at the same time that isn't the sort of 'high civilisation' I think we're talking about. If I'm not mistaken East Asian and American civilisations all seem to be in more temperate clima
  21. I'm certainly not saying that, I've not really commented on it. I honestly don't know. What I would say is that Sapiens have been kicking about Europe for over 40'000 years that we know of and western Europeans only did anything noteworthy in the last 1500-1000 right? For thousands of years before that (15k years ago that we know of) civilisations were springing up all over the middle east (in Asia right?) which spread to southern Europe and North Africa, flourishing probably due to the Med', eventually reaching all corners of the 'Old World'. I wonder if those earliest civilisations had
  22. I've heard conjecture that it's Vit-D that is the reason for ethnics getting whacked by CV-19 worse than whites in the UK. Social factors are obviously significant but even after you correct for all those they're still something like twice as likely to die from it. Vit-D deficiency is rife amongst dark skinned folk in the UK for obvious reasons and Vit-D significantly effects the strength of your immune system.
