  1. I see wellingtons and Velcro have been considered essential for national morale!
  2. LOL, okay. Thanks for enlightening me.
  3. We certainly weren't safe as houses and no option of furlough with my employer either. This year 40% of the department I work in have been laid off, most recently this week with no certain end in sight. The oil industry has been wrecked! I'm one of the 'lucky' ones, so far. Kinda wondering why I'll be expected to contribute to everyone else 'help' though...
  4. Peer review is done when you have written up your research and submitted it to a journal for publication. It goes through a process called 'peer review' to make sure it is up to scratch for publication in their journal. Journals have a reputation to uphold and so they want to sort the wheat from the chaff. It's fairly self explanatory, a panel of experts (peers) read and examine the paper and decide if it's fit for publication in the journal they represent. It sounds like the work is close to being made public. The real peer review comes after publication though, when the whole scientific
  5. Same. There's a lot of 'noise' around anything like this and it makes me quite dismissive off hand. Which isn't fair because it impedes legitimate scientific discovery. I'm not saying we have a duty to spend time doing the leg work, but we do have a duty to not bother anyone that wishes to. Greyman has educated me, and that only happened because I thought he was nuts and hung around waiting to prove it. It was humbling. Though I'm still not convinced that breeding populations of leopards, mountain lion, jaguar or lynx etc are established in the UK, that hasn't changed, but I am now much l
  6. I'd feel like a fraud if I bought mallard hearts! Yeah I bet theyre very similar, its with you mentioning them that reminded me.
  7. Mallard hearts! ? Fry up about a dozen with bacon and mushroom and smash it all into a cob. They’d be extinct before I had had enough, lol.
  8. That's a shame and no doubt this year has put a lot of people's mental health under serious strain.
  9. Dan Jarvis.... I mentioned him on here years ago. He's the sort of fella who could do the Tories serious damage imo if his party supported him fully. A Para veteran who did a spell in the special forces. An altogether better image in a time where 'politician' is a dirty word.
  10. Does stuff like that and all the folks who don't want to face the facts not just make a little part of you want to let the pandemic go so at the end you can see the confused look on their faces as they have to face up to their own BS? I'd be a terrible politician for that reason. Only thing that weighs against my total unreasonable-ness is hearing the painful stories from folks like AT.
  11. Do you reckon the Scottish governments decisions to always be a level heavier than 'the English' is at least partly the same? I personally think it stinks of independence politics. They've taken this opportunity to differentiate themselves as usual. Not 100% sure how their fiscal funding works but I wouldn't be surprised if it puts them in a privileged position whereby they can wreck their local economy at our economic and political expense.
  12. I'm not familiar enough with the conservation of Tuna to have an opinion. The petition seemed a bit 'typical anti' stuff but if there's some sense to it then I'd be in support. It's maybe premature to allow commercial fishing for them but sport fishing, catch and release if viable, surely can't be lumped in with the commercial industry. Spearfishing too maybe. I honestly don't know, just interested to hear what folks think.
  13. Out of interest what do you folks reckon to the petition to protect them in UK waters that I found linked to that picture on FB? https://www.change.org/p/protect-threatened-bluefin-tuna-in-uk-waters
  14. This fella seems to. European thing.
  15. I've 'known' a lass for the last ten years that I'd swear is Borderline and extremely narcissistic. I say known, because she's incapable of holding any sort of relationship down long term without wrecking it. IMO drink is a massive problem for her and should be the first thing she stopped if she was ever serious about getting right. But it's a vicious circle and just telling someone to 'be strong' mentally is like putting someone under and barbel with five plates a side and saying the same while it breaks their back. Anyway it sounds like you might be heading in the right direction.
  16. Understanding the problem is a big step. Sorry to hear that you're struggling but you're a lot closer to getting right now. Can't help but just wanted to show a bit of support.
  17. Cost me 1100 quid for a better one Cant fault the motor really otherwise.
  18. The early ones were essentially FL2s and the only thing I'd warn you about on those was the rear diff going. I'd imagine that the age you're looking at JLR had sorted it by then.
  19. I think we have a communication problem most the time and I’m short tempered. F2F I reckon we’d get on well.
  20. Add psychopathic and mildly genocidal to that.
  21. They’ll be out of jobs soon when AI is developed enough into comprehensive diagnosis machines. There’ll be no need for gps.
  22. Why the f**k am I still logging in to here lol
  23. Also, sorry if I’m grouchy! I’m moving house today. Been stressful as f**k.
  24. Are you f***ing serious? Read the f***ing report, they literally quote tests being up to 97% accurate for positive reactors. I can’t keep having to do this for you. Please stop
