  1. I'm 90% sure the way the government decide if a drug is script or not is simply "Does it work then? It does! Ah well we had better regulate that". I've never taken an over the counter drug that made a f**k of difference. The vast majority of vet appointments end with metacam and norclav that you'll shell out £100 for when truth be told the actual drug costs is like a fiver.
  2. Pfffft, what's the worst that could happen!
  3. It pleases me that you used the correct noun.
  4. Oh you poor thing. There’s a two grand pair of swaros in the post mate. You just get better
  5. There was talk that they would be coating them in non reflective paint because astronomers were playing hell about the idea of 25k shiny things buzzing about the sky f***ing up their work. The first batch didn’t have this which is why everyone could see them. I think that’s probably why mate. I know your pain mate. I lived in a small town the past 8 years but now in rural Leicestershire proper. Way clearer sky’s and way nicer garden/neighbourhood to kick back and enjoy!
  6. For anyone that looks up now and again, these three are nicely grouped tonight. If the moon wasn't such a slim crescent and more full then it would likely outshine Saturn at the top there and Jupiter at the right. With normal 10x binos you should be able to see at least a couple of the Galilean moons of Jupiter and with maybe 20-40x mag you would be able to see Saturn's rings. Mars is well over to the left of these in the sky for anyone looking. Anyway, something to show the kids maybe now we're getting some clear nights...
  7. Anything too fine just chips with bone work. So I like a compound grind, something like a off the shelf scandi that I'll then put a second more robust bevel on. No way I'd attempt hollow. Be more inclined to try convex.
  8. Which reminds me, I quite liked the portrayal of Winston in The Crown.
  9. I think because I drew on the Churchillian ability to overcome the seemingly impossible (in the case of electric cars tiny f***ing mole hill problems), Max reminded me that even Churchill f****d up. I think it's a bit of a sideways leap but fair all the same.
  10. I only think I know from what the lads at the grammar school called their teachers.
  11. Thank f**k you lot weren't about during the war. "I'm telling you Prime Minister Churchill, it can't be done!". LOL
  12. Yeah what I mean is we never spoke to the neighbours in a way that required it. Lol. Kids just didn’t. Not that I remember. Other than ‘hello’ or ‘excuse me, can I get my ball back please’. If the adult was a family friend, ie socialising with us then we would be in first names.
  13. Correction, teachers were sir and miss. But it just seems like it was the only time I’d ever talk to adults in a formal setting.
  14. I honestly don’t think we really ever addressed our elders. Lol! Never really had cause to. Maybe I forget. Teachers were Mr and Miss. Family friends were addressed by their first name. It sounds like we have found my problem.
  15. They basically skip between significant historical events of the nation and how the royal family/government dealt with them and these basic plot lines are padded with the personal relationships of the various family members. I personally found it quite insightful. There's a bit of fieldsports in it too of course. The stalking and fishing are alright but the shooting scenes depart from reality a bit, lol.
  16. I had no idea it was seen as such. I've got to be honest, I'm not sure I believe you've seen it.
  17. It's a docudrama/historical drama not a soap opera, and it's streaming tv not daytime.
  18. Hydrogen fuel cells have the advantage for haulage.
  19. I suppose “ma’am” would be the proper alternative?
  20. I love the idea of calling people 'sir' in a respectful gentlemanly intent. Same as saying 'Mr Smith' or whatever until told to refer to a person by their first name. Folks in service professions just do it naturally. It's just so alien to me it'd come off disrespectful. Makes me feel a bit awkward when in that sort of environment tbh.
  21. Keep an eye on the guys working on this. If realised, it'll give Musk some serious competition and revolutionise spaceflight. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SABRE_(rocket_engine)
  22. These two? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flags_of_Our_Fathers_(film) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Letters_from_Iwo_Jima Not seen either tbh mate.
  23. They've portrayed a few left leaning people favourably tbh. I don't mind, maybe it's the truth I just like how it covers all the significant events in our history over the Queens life. I'd love to see a band of brothers type series about the Falklands War. Maybe even with 50/50 Brit/Argie plot with no bias.
  24. Again mate, I don't believe it's a blind alley. The fact that capitalists are profiting is simply proof that capitalism still exists. In fact capitalism and technological progress are symbiotic. So have all renewable technologies plateaued in their development? We've done all we can after a few decades at it? Up until recently it wasn't the benefits now that were driving these technologies, it was the future benefits that required these steps to achieve. These benefits are now being realised. Like it or not they're getting greener and if they haven't already, will likely surpass combustio
