  3. If it was me I wouldn't release any duck at all. Is the pond visited by wild duck ? How big is it ? Duck will soon find food put in, just a question of keeping an eye on it, wait to the food starts disappearing, there will be tell tale signs ie feathers , prints. Just keep feeding ever day if possible and they will soon turn up on numbers. Regards Bell
  4. My dear Euilleam, no offence taken. One mans sport is another mans poison but the unwarranted killing and dumping of so many regal birds can never be acceptable. A goose is an adversary of the highest merit, a truly wild bird who sees far off places the likes of me and you can only dream of. It deserves the upmost respect in death as it does in life.   15. Same here in my part of North yorks, my girl has taken in birds nests and skulls. they have 'Forest school' a couple of days a month where for the entire day they spend making fires and buggaring about in the woods. Usually comes home covered in mud but very happy
  16. Nice Trentotter, best sporting and eating bird there is. Cant understand those that say "dont shoot them". We get an influx of millions of them over the winter months.

    Thanks for all the replies, and i am getting there, to cut a long story short, the tortoise was bought for my daughter who had an accident about 6 months ago and was killed, she looked after him I wasnt the main care giver, So i didnt really have a clue to be honest Has you can imagine my life was turned upside down and im only now getting back to soMe sort of reality, yes its my fault the tortoise is ill, he has been for a calcium shot earlier this week, and ive received some great advice of members and the vet, i have improved his diet, also was using a normal house hold bulb and i have no
