  1. thats a nice bag of magpies, did you decoy them in with something ??
  2. After feeding 3 sacks of grain and counting the ducks coming in we shot last night. As usual, and like clockwork, the first to move were the gulls....great long lines of them. Then came the crows, all heading for roost, one of them and a pigeon hit the flood as i couldnt resist. Then came the geese, canadas and greylags, not heading for this stubble but somewhere else. I called a few of the packs and one lot of 4 came close enough and although one shuddered to my shot it kept going..... A short pause and then it was ducktime. I havnt seen that many duck for a long time, they w

  5. Dont seem right to me all this coverage......its one thing keeping us all up to date but some of this reporting is a little bit too close to the bone for my liking..................i was watching them interview the son of this Bridger yesterday
  6. Mate if it is him i dont think he will ever be released. He will be one of those 'special' cases like that dirtbag Ian Huntley that never sees the ouside of the prison walls. We can only hope he gets disembowelled inside by some mad fecker wanting to make a name for himself.
  7. With all the water that came down last week the brooks and dykes were sure to overflow. Once every couple of years it happens just right and we have either a flooded stubble or even better flooded late standing crops........a veritable duck 'take away' The water here stays for around 3 weeks and you have to make the most of it while its still there. Two sacks of barley have gone in and the ducks have found it. Theres always a few geese around when the standing water is about and i came accross this little lot this morning as i went to feed the flood next door So we shoot it
  8. Of course they know more than theyre letting on. flags will be at half mast as theyve burried one of the wpcs from Manchester today mate. I hope it is the bloke they have in custody otherwise his life is fecked if they dont find the perpetrater.
  9. I hate to say it but I think you could be right Naaar coppers nouse.........he looks a 'rong un'
  10. Mate, i was up that way last week and the 'word' was the mackeral had gone. If you can find deep water at your feet you will have fun with pollack on jelly eels etc. We had half a dozen in a morning. Im not much of a sea angler and im sure others will point you in the right direction. Tight lines

  14. Well it was 'that' time of year again and the old bus pointed North and off we went. A lot of rain had come down but the West coast had been spared and a short hop accross on a ferry and we saw the burns were running just right First port of call were a couple of pots that we had implied permission to check......bingo a full house Well that was tea sorted, a couple of beers led to another couple and one thing led to another and before we knew it we were down on the shore by a rather fetching spate stream.......just the kind of place where any self respecting sea trout would love t

    Duck pond

Feed it a bit earlier in the day and push any birds off that are there. They will come back in the evening mate.
  17. Lovely fish NR, what fly did you catch them on ?
  18. i sat and watched my local nick lowering their flag to half mast yesterday. very sobering it was..........and then the wpc doing it went and pulled the rope too hard and snapped the top off the flagpole And yes, of course the punishment needs to be seen to be greater for killing a cop otherwise we will disolve into anarchy. Anybody who cant see that is very very stupid.

Barley is what you want joe, what duck have you got coming mallard ? You need to feed just enough to keep them interested, when you know the feeds going feed everyday so they come back every night. Don't miss a day or you will loose some.
