Found a yellowhammers nest last year, the dog put it up. Was a right little egg thief in my youth......long time ago. Here's my garden list this year for nests. Mistle thrush, blue tit, dunnock, robin, pied wagtail, goldfinch, chaffinch, collared dove, wood pigeon, crow(can you believe it ! Shot the nest out twice !) blackbird. Pretty sure Chiffchaf and blackcap will have nested and one or two more. Going to put an owl box up next year and a communal tree sparrow box.......I am blessed.

Got to be a Barn owl that pulls my string, love to see them about.

Yes Phil 12 weeks now. She gets a bit of food at supper time when I put her in the kennel as well and it seems to be working for her.
-
She is 100 percent better now. Encouraged her then knocked one of her feeds on the head. Down to 2 feeds a day and she is a different dog. Just a slow starter I'm guessing but pleased with her progress now. Worse than bloody kids they are !!!!!

Why is that TC, it was set inside the chicken house for a rat, it was inside and covered. Ive lifted the lid up to show it. Unfortunate that the magpie climbed inside but hey ho. Bell

Food intake is the first thing effected by stress mainly in sensitive dogs , sensitive / nervy dogs get greatly disturbed when left in boarding kennels the first thing to go is the apatite because they are functioning on instinct which is fear based and if we pin point a place its in the head that means it is only eating at the minute when the pressure to eat from the gut overwhelms the fear based instinct in its head Put it this way you could take one of the dominant breeds Akita ,Rottweiler and take him out of his comfortable environment throw down a pot of food down and he will eat like a

Cheers Phil, she was on weetabix on a morning but knocked it on the head last week. She's on Beeta puppy at the minute and will see how we go the next few days. If no progress will think about introducing a mince feed. Appreciate the input. Bell

Yes WB, have already soaked the food but shes still not got much of an appetite for it. I guess it will involve putting in a bit more time with her and getting it right. Shes a lovely dog and never had this problem before.

Bitch pup 10 week old. Out of a litter of 5, all others dogs. She is a skinny thing, a lot smaller than her siblings. Doesnt eat well. Giving her 3 meals a day but can turn her nose up and not bother without some encouragment from me to eat. Her mother is a thin dog but am comcerned shes not 'thriving' as her brothers obviously are. Has been wormed and had first jab. Am i flapping for no reason ? Bell

None taken today. I penned the birds in today so they all had access to the nest boxes and all laid and no eggs eaten so I don't think it's the birds. I'll exclude them tomorrow and leave a couple of eggs in the nest box along with a 'little present' for whatever is visiting lol

eat the fooker :laugh:yes that is the preferred method as all the tips i was given to stop it failed miserably Untill a few weeks ago I would have suggested the pot as well. But, We tried filling some eggshells with Mustard, cayenne pepper and anything 'hot' from the kitchen cupboard. We instantly went up to 6 eggs the next day, then 3 days later 10 out of our 10 hens! Now we are consistantly getting 7 or 8 a day, so think we've 'cured' it! Wouldn't have believed it if I had been told about it, but it worked for us fair play but to be honest i was already fed up with it,if id

Nice looking bird IH, bet it tasted like shit though lol

Went to get the eggs today and in the nest box was a little bit of egg but no shell. The noticed on the floor of the coup near the entrance an eggshell split in half then on the ground a couple of feet away another egg with a hole in the side about the size of a 10 pence and the contents gone. The 2 culprits I thought of as I've seen them knocking round are magpie or squirrel. I don't think a magpie would gon in the coop though and drag the eggs out. Any thoughts ? Bell

The goverment and their puppet Grayling have made their minds up. They only want 400 firms nationwide carrying out criminal defence work. Fees will be reduced by at least 17.5%, a fact which probably most of the general public wont give a toss about but............the biggest kick in the bollox for mr public is that they will NOT be entitled to the solicitor of their choice if they qualify for legal aid (which every person arrested does irrespective of wealth) The upshot of this is that you my friends may end up being represented by the village idot who has no incentive to do you a good

And if (did) treat them like above with nout else, that twat would whish he was dead . Just think about what freedom we got, walk outside on a nice day, take the dogs out,go for a pint, meet a nice looking women, and have a chat to another person if you wanted. even go on a comp lol.Well just think if he got(none) of this,
