  1. The fly is what I usually use, upstream dry, or nymph, but the himalayan balsam and knotweed has put a stop to that except for the places where it is shallow enough for waders. I only use a little 6ft fly rod, and there are still places where it is not to bad. For a large stretch of the river, at least one bank is man made, as a result of all the old cotton mills and other industry that has long gone, so is quite deep in places. The spinner is more for a quick 10 minutes on the way home from work, or when I am with the kids! How much do you pay to fish that stream if you don't mind
  2. Saw a couple of good fish landed off Saltburn pier on friday to bait. But depending on where you are Judd that might not be any use to you !
  3. Nice fish Bushy, are they wild trout ? Certainly look like wild fish. Bet that big lad pulled your string didn't it ? Ever thought of throwing them a fly old boy ? I'm travelling up north in a couple of weeks chasing sea trout, only the mono fly for me .
  4. Paki at a bus stop was busting for a dump and curls out a 4 foot beauty. The bus pulls up and the paki asks the bus driver how much it is into town. "it's £3.00 for you and £1.50 for your little lad " replies the bus driver

  15. First year 'tunneling' for me. It came with the place i bought but had been seriously neglected. The fruit trees hadnt been watered and just managed to save them. It has a good watering system and electricity inside. As you can see the place was a mass of weeds, brambles and rose bay willow herb. i have a massive problem with weeds and am just having to pick all the crap out and keep on top of it, may change the soil for next year. All the best
