I love the place,,,,and yeh your right about the weather,,,we were up there yesterday ,,15 degrees and sunny down here in the midlands,,,but up there yesterday ,,,big coat on,,wooly hat,,,gloves,,,and it was fecking bleak on them tops,,, we were cold all day,,,in fact we packed up ferreting at 12. Rabbits mainly,,,,they go in there holes and scare them out ,,,,,they are also used to bolt rats in the same way,,,and a few of us have hunted squirrels with them,,,,but not running up trees,,,,in loft spaces in houses. Type in ferreting on YouTube ,,,,there's loads of rabbit hunting on there

Been done a lot on this site dan,,, Obviously don't feed the dog just befor running,,,,but 6 hours befor is fine,,,I feed around tea time most days,,,and still lamp after midnight

I agree with you,, They start using there noses whilst out on puppy walks to a degree,,,some will more than others of course,,,I usually have them out ferreting early,,,so again they start using there nose,,,,after that ,,,8 months onwards I might try any pic out a rabbit on the lamp,,, But recal should be good by then,,, Now I don't pretend to be the best dog trainer,,,,but I've never had a pup hunt up on the lamp,,,if it misses on the lamp as a pup,,, shout it back if nessasery,,,but mine will come back to a high pitched hiss,,whistle sound
