I invited David off this site to Scotland yesterday for a spot of foxing . The weather was very frosty but at least it was dry.
We had a good day with a good bit of craic , saw plenty wildlife 9 roe and 5 foxes. David manged to shoot a vixen on the lamp with a well placed neck shot
Glad to meet and be out with like-minded people , will be out again shortly mate
Roe should definitely be included as well . I have shot many roe in Scotland with my .22/250 and it performs excellent. Its crazy how on the Scottish Border a roe can be shot on the Scottish side of the fence with a .22 centrefire but not on the other side of the fence . CRAZY !!!!!!!!
BBs are a good cartridge for foxes , the main point is try not to shoot at foxes at range only wounding them , make sure they are close enough for a clean kill
Me and my mate have just gained some new permission where the farmer wants rid of the foxes so we had a look out last night and got the 1st of the new year , hope its the 1st of many
I use a s/s as well , dont really like over and unders . Ive also had a fair bit of ribbing about it but not bothered as shoot OK with it !!
Nothing special another Spanish job..
Um ,isnt that your 22.250 ?
.243 for roe and muntie ,100 grain ,with now the added bonus of being able to shoot munties with the .222, 55 grain federals .
No mate , thats my old Ruger .243 before I purchased my Tikka.
