  1. No problem mate we will have some cracking days this season Im sure Its great being out with someone who is likeminded and keen and prepared to put some effort in not like a few armchair hunters that grace these sites
  2. Yesterday saw me and David mooching again for charlie. We decided to lay up at a nice spot overlooking the edge of some forestry. We set up at about 9pm and was busy watching a roe doe when suddenly a hen pheasant flushed from the edge of the trees . I told David get ready as surely charlie was very close by , anyway a couple of seconds later and a nice dog fox emerged from the bracken which David took without any hesitation
  3. I must have left about 30 rabbits for charlie , and when Id checked the whole lot had gone. Obviuosly a litter close by !!
  4. After speaking to a local farmer he told me he had lost a few of his laying hens . So I pre-baited an area with rabbits and went back last night for a look. All of the rabbits had been taken so I knew charlie was working that area !! I laid up til nearly dark and saw nothing so I decided to give it til 10.30pm and then pack up. 10.30 came and I wandered back to the car a bit disheartened. On reaching the car I laid my rifle on the back seat and was just emptying it when I spotted Charlie crossing the field I quickly grabbed the rifle , lay down and gave the fox a
  5. It was still a good fight to watch , Gomez was no pushover !
  6. Nemo , Did you ever pass your Level 2 mate ??
  7. ???????????????????????????????????
  8. Had a look out yesterday evening to thin out a few rabbits for an old farmer who was complaining about the numbers. On arrival he wasnt in and I noticed 3 rabbits sitting on his lawn , so out with the .22 and 2 of them were bagged.I then spotted a few woodies feeding on clover so I stalked to the dry stone wall and bagged one of these also . I continued to stalk the ground along the edge of some woodland where most of the rabbits were coming from. As I stalked along the edge of the wood I happened to look over the wall and was confronted by a nice roe-buck staring back at
  9. Ive got a Tikka T3 mate and love it . Accurate rifle mines in .243 and has a T8 fitted , very good moderator just makes the rifle unbalanced when carrying it. My mate also has a Tikka T3 with an S5 mod fitted which is a lot shorter and just screws on the end rather than over the barrel. Both great mods though ! I use either 58 grn v-max or 100 grain Winchester ammo , both shooting well !!
  10. looks too old for a cub id say last years maybe its the dog/vixen to the cubs?tell us more. No mate , definitely a cub.Maybe it just looks bigger in the pic

  13. The other evening I went to a sheep farm that I carry out fox control on. I went to check an earth that I knew held cubs , but on inspection they had been moved. Any way I found that they had only been moved 1 field further and were in some very dense nettles adjoining a sheep field grazed short by the sheep. I stalked the farm first seeing a couple of roe does , one of which I stalked to within 20 yards of. Next I nearly trod on a fox lying in a patch of nettles . I continued further to a badger sett where I saw the sow and 5 cubs out playing................. I

  15. Always a bonus getting charlie mate !!Looks a nice piece of ground that ??
  16. The weekend saw me and David out stalking again. 7.30PM we set off stalking up a gorse covered valley , we spied a doe to start with just casually going about her business. Then as we meandered through the gorse a buck appeared from nowhere just walking behind the bush in front of us, I crept around and he never even knew what happened , good start to the evening we had only been out 1/2 an hour. We continued up the valley to lie and watch from a good vantage point . On arrival I spied a nice 6 pointer and a doe out in the valley below, David took this buck at approx 250yards with an
