  1. Fair play, mate but 50 yards with a Mercury with open sights? I mainly shoot with springer's too, have done for 30 years but that's a bold claim. If you really can do it, then my hat is off to you, it really is. It's maybe not best to claim long shots without proof, I'm not saying you're lieing, mate, but it gives the wrong impression to some folks who may be tempted to take risky long range shots. There's a lot of new shooter's reading these threads and it may give them unrealistic ideas. No disrespect, fella. Cheers.
  2. Nice one jack! Now you can see that £75 spent with a craftsman's far better spent than £75 with your local rip-off merchant.... Enjoy it, fella. It'll serve you well. Cheers.
  3. TBH the past few times I've been out, I've either used my HW90 or RWS52. I only got my first PCP about a year ago, an AA410c, lovely gun but I don't find it very rewarding to use. I was bowled over by it to start with but got a little bored with it after a while... I'm not knocking it or PCP's in general but I've mainly gone back to my springers. I'm a bit skint at the moment and have been thinking of selling some of my guns, I don't want to but if push comes to shove, the 410 will be going. I'll NEVER sell the 90.... Like you've proved, Tony, you don't need to spend a fortune to g

  6. Nah!! I can do that easy with my Gat Gun useing yellow darts......
  7. Hi, mate. (Tony, you are a wag!!...) They're OK. Made by Hatsan in Turkey who also make Webley springer's 'cos clearly we don't have the ability to make anything as complicated as a break barrel airgun in the UK anymore.... If you do your bit, it'll do it's. Cheers.
  8. Why would he need to do that? I've just gone through it. Sorry, I've only been fixing the feckin' things for the past 20 years, so I've no clue as to what's what. Cheers.
  9. Nice one, Davy!! Hope it all goes well for you, mate. Cheers.
  10. I had an HW80 years back that shot really well with them. Nice flat flight for a .22 out to 25-30 yards but they do slow down quick due to their shape and light weight. Great for short to medium range, if your gun likes them. Cheers.
  11. Go for it, mate!! The land owner's legaly bound to keep vermin under control, one way or another. You've nothing to lose by asking, best of luck. Cheers.
  12. Hi, mate. They were an OK rifle in their day. Some of the early one's were a bit ropey, they seemed to be made of pig metal, the barrel's went slack in the jaws 'cos they were only held by a pin and the overall quality was iffy at best. Later one's, mid 's on were much better, especially the 'S' version which had a walnut stock and far better build. Like you said in your PM, they do share a good few parts with Airsporters of the same era, same trigger assy., same piston assy. and spring. Good luck with it, mate. Cheers.
  13. . Bang on Paddy... Always makes sense to do your Homework before parting with your hard earned reddies........ A secondhand Meteor or Lightning would probably been a better investment....... Jasper Fair do's, fella's. Sounds like the bloke's bought it on the spot, got told a load of sh1te by the tosser who's sold it to him, then at least had the good sense to think about it then ask for advice..... If it's working as it should and you can put your shots where it matters, the bunnies won't give a toss if it's got SMK or Daystate stamped on it. Practice and good lu
  14. It would Be a Bummer If you got the Gay Couple's Keys.......
  15. Not had any dealings with the Cometa, sorry. What's up the the 57? Cheers.

  17. Hi, mate. The lads have covered the scopes, now for the spring..... Remove the stock, two screws at the forend, one in the front of the trigger guard. Lift the action out of the stock being careful to keep it as straight as possible 'cos sometimes the pins that hold the trigger mechanism in place fall out (quality gear.....). Once the action's out, put some tape around the trigger assy. to keep the pins in place while you're working on it. Remove the small grub screw at the back of scope rail.Remove the pointless bit of plastic that's at the back of the cylinder. You may need an extra
  18. Hi, mate. Bit of a vague question..... What do you want to know then maybe someone can help. Cheers.
  19. Hi, Shay. I borrowed one of those tents at a meet at Davy's last summer (can't remember who but thanks!!), slept in it for a couple of nights. Seemed fine for a basic cheap tent. Did take a bit of re-packing though.... Cheers.
  20. Nice one, Tony!! Like hen's teeth, those things. They did the old Paratrooper with that system too, if I remember rightly. Cheers!!
  21. Good idea!! Best of luck with it, fellas. Cheers.
  22. Hi, mate. Congrats on the baby, arse about your hand.... Could be any number of things. Firstly, check that everything's properly tight, scope mounts and stock screws, mod if it's got one, anything that can come lose needs checking. Springer's can be funny buggers and from what you've said, I think it may partly be down to the way you're holding it. They need to be allowed to recoil in their own way. The gun starts to recoil as soon as you release the trigger and the piston starts to move and that's way before the pellet's left the end of the barrel. If you're resting it one way f
  23. Spot on Darryl its a ASI Paratrooper I have the Sniper 30 shot jobbie here Phantom PS how much you shell out for them? Bloody hell, Tony, a sniper 30 shot? I've not seen one of those for years!! Does the mag work and load OK? They used to be very problematic and jam.
