  1. What you hear when you shoot a springer's not really what's heard down-range. A lot of what you hear when you fire is what's being transfered through the gun straight into your head 'cos your cheeks resting on it... It's mostly mechanical noise and vibe's that you as the shooter's aware of. The muzzle noise gets lost in all that crap and you're not really aware of it. Down range however, your target's heads not resting on the gun when it goes off, so it's not as aware of all the mechanicl crap that's going on. It'll mainly just hear the noise that comes out of the end of the gun so, ye
  2. Signed and put link on F.Book. All the best. Cheers.
  3. Hi, mate. I went out a few weeks back with my 410 and was dead chuffed when I arrived to find I'd left the mags in my other jacket. ARSE. I was gonna pack up and go home but I decided to see if I could load the pellets straight into the barrel and with a little practice I found it's quite easy. I s'pose if you've got chubby fingers it may be hard though... Cheers.
  4. TBH, mate, I'm not sure but I think there's a good chance. It's held in the action with 2 pins and slides out towards the rear. The piston's held back by 2 ball bearings and the safety catch is thumb opperated, plastic trigger..
  5. I could do with help on this too... Cheers.
  6. Hi, mate. Sorry, can't help you with price but the 's a really good springer. An old design but still plenty useful. Built to last, lovely trigger, rather heavy though. You'll not go far wrong if the price is OK. Good luck!! Cheers.
  7. I've been a big fan of Mags/Baracudas in .177 for many years. One of the best pellets I've ever used. I've dragged out my old Diana 52 lately (.177) and have been trying Dynamic TM1's. Well pleased!! Same kind of groups through the 52 as the mags, but fly a little flatter and hit at least as hard. I'll try to work out how to put pics on here one day..... Cheers.
  8. Hi, mate. I never owned one but I've used and fixed the odd one or two. A nice, basic target pistol. From what I can remember (going back a long time but I'll do my best!!), the biggest problem with them is the seal on the loading port. It's an odd plastic swing out from the side of the gun, am I right? Like I said, I'm going back 20ish years... If the 'o' rings are good and it's sealing OK, a little smear of silicon grease around the mateing surfaces helped. Other than that, they were a good solid little gun. I just hope I'm remembering right!! Cheers.
  9. Well I've taken it to bits again, checked it all over, back together. Still sh1t!! Nothing seems to be catching or sticking, it's clean and properly lubed. The first stage really shouldn't be affected weather the gun's cocked or not, all it's doing it takeing up pressure on a small spring. Bloody weird this.... Anyway, I've ordered an spring guide for it today, so we'll see if that helps. The only thing I've changed is the spring so it may well be related. Thanks for the tip! Sorry, no pics. I'm a total techno f-wit... Cheers.
  10. Hi, mate, thanks for the reply. Yes, the 52 and the 48 have exactly the same action, only the stock's not the same. OK, I've not changed anything other than the spring, no extra washers or anything. It's still got the standard plastic (crap) spring guide that seems to be too small for the spring. I'd not heard of the guide mod but thinking about it, it does make sence. The main for the 52's the same size and spec as an HW35, which is the same as the , only a little shorter. The thing that really does not make sense to me is the fact that the first stage feels fine with the main sp
  11. A little off this topic but I put a post up a little while back about a trigger problem I've got with my 52. Have you come accross this before? It's baffled me. No obvious reason at all.... They are a gun you've got to be careful with, as you've said. It takes very little to take them far too high. You really do need a chrono if you're doing anything to them, takes bugger-all to put them very much the wrong side of the law.... Cheers.
  12. I've a King Ratty for that kind of stuff and it works a treat. Cheap as chips too compared to a TDR. Cheers. P.S. Not to be left out... Etc.......
  13. Hi, folks. An odd one this and one that I really should be able to solve but can't!! I gave my old Diana 52 a service last week, new spring, clean, grease, general check over and all that guff... Having put it all back together and putting a few shots through it, the first stage on the trigger feels really rough. It works OK, just feels crap through the first stage, stiff and notchy. The trigger assy. comes out in one piece so I've not taken it appart, just slid it out of the action upon disasembly, then re-fitted it after a degrease, clean and lube. It was fine before. I'm
  14. May have a fast care with a wide bore exhaust can though; I often see kids with wide bore exhaust systems, they seem to use them to compensate for either a small dick or as a reminder of their girlfriends ability to take a traffic cone all the way to the hilt Not wishing to offend anyone here who drives cars with widebore exhaust systems Just my overview of some of the local kids Phantom Tony, The traffic cone jab made me LMFAO!!!! Not heard that one before..... Class!!
  15. After reading some of the other guy's comments I took another look at the vid. Years back, I had an RWS52 on ticket that gave 32ft-lbs with Crosman Premiers (.22) I used that gun day in, day out on the estate where I worked. In PERFECT conditions, I'd go to around 75 yards with it and I can remember well what it was like. If that shot on the clip was anywhere near 100 yards, which I very much doubt, that gun (AA410?) is shooting at least or above what my old 52 gave. To claim that kind of shot is so fekin' stupid, it's unreal. I bet the guy's got a really big dick and a very fast
  16. They're ok for what they are, mate. A basic springer on a par with a Lightning. If it's all working as it should, £70's not too bad. Good luck. Cheers.
  17. Davy: Thats a tw@t of a thing to do Andy: you say they soon will be doing that? So who's the guy in the grey lab coat that insists I tell him what I had to eat last night before he lets me in my bog......... He said something about H&S but maybe its some thing to do with the NBC suit he wears after I've been. He must be a spy! He must be after stealing the ingrediants for the most deadly of all the dirty bombs of mass destriction  Phantom You're part of a secret covert opperation by our 'government'. Your life may now be in grave danger by shareing that in
  18. It really is splitting hairs with the power we've got to play with. If they leave the gun at the same speed (assuming the same weight) then 'cos the .20 will slow down slightly more slowly than the .22, it'll have a very slightly slower drop as the range goes up. The tests you've done are from the same gun but as you've said, not the same energy, so you're not really compairing like for like. As I said, I was generalising....
  19. Ok, like I said, I was being very general. EG. Accupels are the same weight in both .20 and .22, 14.3 grains. At 5mm they present 10% less frontal are than 5.5mm, so the air hits the front of the pellet so much less, so slows it down a little less. I'm not claiming to be a ballistics expert and I'm sure someone on here can supply the maths. It all confuses me, gas speeds, friction co's., acceleration vs mass etc.... Diamiter effects velocity in an airgun far less than mass. Cheers.
  20. Yeah, nice one.. Let's encourage folks to take pot-shots at stupid ranges. Tosser. Annoyed Cheers.......

    Mink

Way back in the mid 's some do-gooding f***ing w****rs released a farm full of minks a few miles up river from the estate where I worked. The minks then proceeded to kill pretty much all the riverside wildlife for miles around. Nice to see the tossers had thought it through before they let them lose..... They are plenty killable with an airgun but please, be VERY careful with them. As Aaron's said, they don't stay still for long, so getting a good shot can be tricky and if you do get a hit, shoot it again. They are very tough and very aggressive. Cheers and good luck!
  22. You're kidding, Davy?!?! FFS!!! Health and feckin' safety...... We'll not be able to take a dump soon without some tosser with a clip-board doing a risk assesment. P***ed off Cheers......
  23. Geeza!! Same to you, my mate. Cheers!!!!!!!
  24. It should be doing better than that, mate. What groups are you getting from your PCP? If it's new, it'll take a few hundred shots before it's properly bedded in. If your kit's all good, it could be down to you. Are you used to springers 'cos they're not so easy to shoot as PCPs. The way you hold them is the key, they need a light, consistant hold so they can recoil in their own way shot to shot otherwise your shots will be all over the gaff. Cheers.
