  1. I'd not really got much time for Brock and all the not lived up to hype that came with him but after that... WOW!! Respect. Coming back for the win after a hammering like that really takes some doing.
  2. I'll drink to that but then I'll drink to anything.... Have a good one, fella!! Cheers.
  3. No bumble bees but I've got some mineing bees that have set up home in a dead log in my garden.
  4. Nice one, Si. Catch up soon, all being well... Cheers.
  5. My eldest son Oscar's nearly 12 now but when he was very young I used to read him a story called 'The Very Bad Rabbit', I can't remember the details too clearly now but basically it was about this bunny with a bad attitude who used to go around being mean to the other creatures and 'cos of his mis-deeds he ended up being shot by the farmer.... Anyway, one afternoon I'd come back home after a mornings shooting and I was skinning and gutting some rabbits in the back garden when Oscar toddled up to me with a rather worried look on his face and asked.... 'Daddy? You do only shoot bad rabbits,
  6. Hi, mate. Those older .22 BSA's and Webley's used a 5.6mm bore where everybody else used (still do) a 5.5mm bore. I always used Eley Wasps back then as they were made for the British barrel's but the quality of them's gone to pot in recent years. Total sh1te... RWS Superdome worked well in mine so maybe give them a go. Good luck, fella. Cheers.
  7. Hi, Jack. Great post, mate and terrible luck!! The bit that's broken's the cocking shoe (OOO-ERRR!!), the linkage sits in it and it slides up and down the cylinder as the barrel's opened and closed. When they break they tend to just fall out of the wider part of the cocking slot at the front of the cylinder. It's about the only weak part on HW springers, I've changed a good few over the years. Easy fix. New shoe, tap out the pin that holds the linkage to the barrel, place the shoe into the slot, engage the end of the linkage to the shoe, line up the linkage with the barrel then
  8. Done!! Good luck with it, fella. Cheers.
  9. Hi mate, The front sight is fixed but there is 2 retaining nuts either end and the blade can be removed, its just like a ring with a blade sticking up, no way to lenghthen it but im sure I could get another made up.. would that work? Yes it would. If you can raise the front sight it'll lower the line of the barrel in relation to your sight line so it will bring the point of impact down. 2 or 3 mil sould be about right from what you've said to bring the sight back in to it's proper adjustment. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
  10. I read the first part of your post and thought, spot on, couldn't agree more. What's the second paragraph about?? jest a bit off banter towards the comments to the welsh diolch ynfawr
  11. Hi, mate. Is there any way to remove the front sight's blade, pin, whatever (sorry, I'm not familiar with SMK) 'cos if you can lengthen the front sight by 2 or 3mm it should bring it back into a useable adjustable range from what you've said. Cheers.
  12. Hi, mate. I know feck all about NV, I'm afraid but if you've got a good solid mount and it's only out by a couple of mil I wouldn't worry too much about it. Good luck, fella. Cheers.
  13. The three cops that came to see me were just normal Bobbies and when I asked one of them if he'd like to my other guns he said 'there's no point, I don't know the first thing about guns' he then asked me 'is there any you need a licence for...'. FFS!!! The lad I bumped into at the shops had gone by this point... I must've asked at least another two or three times but he didn't want to know. Years back an old girlfriend of mine and me were rideing back to Leeds from Wakefield along the M1. We both got nicked for speeding at 106mph by and umarked car. We were both ticketed for the same speed
  14. I read the first part of your post and thought, spot on, couldn't agree more. What's the second paragraph about??
  15. Great post as always, Tony. I've had problems like this before. My shoots have public footpaths either running through them or past them so there's always a chance someone may see me and what I'm doing. After nearly comeing to blows with a bloke a few years back, I ring the local feds before I go just to let them know some bloke with a gun dressed up in cammo gear's going to be wandering around within sight of Joe Public.... Cheers.
  16. Hi, Zak. Nice one fella!! Your lad'll soon be out and about with you, mate. I've two boys, 8 and 11 now and they've started to come out with me this year. It was their idea TBH, wasn't too sure about it at first, just thought they'd feck about and frighten anything within about 50 miles but they love it. They stay about 20 yards behind me, good as gold as we stalk around and they really love it!! Their mum's not too chuffed though. PC pain in arse ex wife... Hey ho... Cheers.
  17. Thanks for your comments, fellas. As it happens, I bumped into one of the plods who came round this aft outside my local Co-op. He was asking me if I'd been out lately and as it turns out, he's thinking of takeing up airgunning again as it's something he used to do when he was a lad. Funny old world sometimes.... Cheers.
  18. You've got me there, ya bugga!!
  19. Thanks mate but it was a close range shot in a good sitting position so i dont think it much to brag about Modesty's so rare these days.
  20. The way 'our' team played just reflects very well the feel of England as a hole... Turn up...... Can't be arsed..... Blame every other f*cker for what's gone wrong.... Get some cash anyway even though 'we' screwed it up..... Go home..... Moan... Cheers...................... Edit... I know how to spell whole.......
  21. Nice one, fella!! Cracking shot on the pigeon. Cheers.
