  1. In that case I think I will just go elsewhere, thanks for the help
  2. Theres a piece of local grassland which is used seasonally for livestock (sheep), however they use some type of weedkiller (they seem to target the nettles at the corner of the field), and possibly also something to boost the grass growth. However, this field is literally littered with elder trees, and for such a small area it would be great to harvest the elderflower and later the elderberries, but I'm somewhat concerned that the stuff they use on the field may be poisonous or just generally bad for you.. does anyone know what it may be that they use on such land and if its poisonous? Tha
  3. I agree fully with Davy; the guy sounds like he just went and bought a gun and some snares with absolutely no knowledge of the laws relevant,so I would suggest you take up the offer of getting the permission, then try and educate him and if he continues to be tit then go to the landowner, explain the laws he is breaking and make it clear that the they (the landowner) is also liable. Then recommend that s/he should quietly revoke his permission for obvious reasons, and offer to take up the job of pest control yourself.
  4. I understand entirely, but I don't shoot .177 and theres a lot of popular pellets in .177, but any suggestions on pellets to get rid of would be great. And yes, I would much prefer to sell less pellets for a lower price, but the .22 ones didn't really sell (although I suppose they were a bit expensive) and yet pellpax's 38 types selection do sell. And regarding the targets, 20 of those targets is only 70p, but I see your point. So would you prefer - or at least feel it is better- : Air Arms Field .177 4.52 Bisley Magnum .177 Bisley Long Range Gold .177 Falcon Accuracy Plus .17
  5. I have written up the .177 pellet selection as requested and it is as follows: the selection will include 20 different popular and reputable types of pellet, with 25 of each sort. However this time I am going to include targets with it: - Air Arms Field .177 4.51 - Air Arms Field .177 4.52 - Bisley Super Field .177 - Bisley Magnum .177 - Bisley Long Range Gold .177 - Crosman Ultra Magnum .177 - Daystate Field Target .177 4.51 - Daystate Field Target .177 4.52 - Daystate Field Target Heavyweight - Falcon Accuracy Plus .177 4.52 - H&N Field and Target Trophy .177 - H&N Sil
  6. I've forgotten what spray they use at my local club, but its the type that has plastic in it as it doesnt seem to flake and seems to last well, but every time you hit it it does leave a pellet sized lead coloured mark lol. I'm thinking plasti-kote, but I'm not sure.
  7. Ohhh, oops sorry guys, I had assumed they were one and the same. Thank you for correcting me
  8. Fishfish's Hunter Catapults. Is this what you meant?
  9. But anyway, yeah I would say you should go for it, you might be able to keep your permission and even if he says no so what? You've got nothing to lose.
  10. Might I suggest a few things: 1. A sling 2. Make/get a skeleton stock. 3. Increase your muscles. Okay, three may seem a little harsh but it will be useful for a lot, all you need to get is a couple of weights and some time on a regular basis, it will help but whether it would be worth the time and effort is disputable.
  11. The way I would handle it is go round, see the parents, explain to them the laws (print off a piece of paper with all the laws if you don't know them off by heart, in which case the BASC site will be helpful) and recommend that they either enlighten their children or confiscate their air rifles or something. However, I suppose that paarents who raise such kids are unlikely to listen, so when you do end up having to call the police they'll know who it probably was. You could just put a letter through their letterbox, but that'll probably do nothing.
  12. Thanks again Aaron, I have looked into the AA Fields/FX pellets and it turns out you are 100% correct, and as a result I have replaced them with H&N Silhouettes which I've heard a lot of praise about.
