  1. Hi, mate. It is made by Gammo but for a good few years they were sold in the UK as A.S.I. (Anglo Spanish Imports). A mate of mine had one back when we were kids and it took care of a good few bunnies. Same action as the Sniper but in a bull-pup style stock. Cheers.
  2. Yup,the 95's head and shoulders above the others. Build, trigger, the way it shoots, the lot really. Good luck, fella. Cheers.
  3. Good link, Marksman. Loads of stuff on there, not seen that before. My mistake, must've been 20 years since I changed one of those. Webley, not BSA. My bad. Ooops! Cheers.
  4. Thanks for the heads up. If that's his attitude I shocked he's still tradeing unless he's no copetition but that doesn't sound like it's the case. Hope you get sorted soon, mate. Cheers.
  5. Result for you there, Tony!! Best of luck with it, fella. Cheers.
  6. Hi, mate. Depends on the gun but being general I guess .177 Baracuds, Loguns and H and N FTTS, Dynamic TM1's, .20 Dynamic SPC5 (my favourite!!) and Baracudas again, .22 Loguns again, FTT's again and AA Field. Worst? What's already been mentioned and Ely Wasps. The Wasp's used to be one of my top pellets but the quality has totally gone to pot recently. Shame... Cheers.
  7. Hi, Davy. Got your PM, mate but for some reason I can't seem to reply. technology!!! Some of those older BSA's had different piston heads depending on caliber, the .177 one allows for a little more swept area to make up for the fact .177's about 10% (ish) less efficient. Don't bother packing the spring with washers, it's a myth that it boosts power. If you think about it, youve still got the same amount of stored energy in the spring, putting more pre-load on it won't change that. All you're likely to do is make the spring go solid too soon and the trigger won't engage on the pi
  8. Hi, Davy. I could be remembering wrong as it's beer o'clock time but I seem to remember that the piston head from the scorpion pistol fits the meteor's piston and allows for a little more swept volume, so taking the power up a little. Still well legal. May be worth asking your chap about. Good luck with it, mate. Cheers.
  9. I think 6ft-lb's split a few ways won't kill past 15 inch's........
  10. I really don't know anyting about the Gammo, mate. Try a Google search, may show up what you need to know. Cheers.
  11. Hi, mate. We used to do that as kids. OK for a bit of fun with tin cans but no good for hunting. Say you've got 4 projectiles being fired at near the legal limit, that's only 3ft-lb's each and in practice it'd be even less as the efficiancy would be well down with all that weight and friction. Plus the accuracy would be hopeless past a few feet. A bit like a blown patern from an overly long shotgun load. Cheers.
  12. I remember you joining up here pal, if I remember rightly I gave you a bit of grief (banter! ) over asking about FT shooting clubs? Yeah, ya bugger!! All good clean fun. I never went down that path....... I forgive you even though you're Welsh Nice one, Malt!! Cheers, buddy.
  13. I joined up with them about a year ago when I was looking to buy my first PCP after 30 odd years of shooting springers. I asked a few questions and didn't get a single reply..... :wankerzo4: I asked the same stuff on here and got loads of help from the lads. It's the members that make a forum and it seems most of them over there just want to piss up each other's backs. Cheers, lads.
  14. Hi, mate. So long as they're in season, you can shoot them no probs. Just like a head shot on anything else, so long as you can put your shots in the kill zone at the ranges you shoot, crack on. Many traditionalist's frown on takeing game birds with airguns but a well placed pellet will do the job just fine. Cheers.
  15. Yeah, Kevin always was a little, erm, eccentric... If you see him, tell him Andy from Linsley Bro's says 'hi'. Cheers, mate.
  16. Bloody hell, small world!! I used to work with Kevin 20 odd years ago in a gun shop in Leeds. Edit... He used to do the shotguns and other firearms back then, he didn't like working on airguns, so I used to do all the work on them. Bloody good with woodwork as I remember. Made some lovely stocks.
  17. Bedale? Was that with Kevin Burrel, by any chance?
  18. Honestly, mate you really would have the whole job done in less than half an hour on one of those. All HW springer's are so easy to work on, it's not true. Very well designed and built. Removing the piston only requires the cocking link to be taken off (one pin!!), then the piston just slides out. £110 per hour labour from your local gunshop? Bit much, me thinks... Cheers.
  19. I've heard a lot of good things about Tony Wall and his work. The money he charges for the work put in to proprely tune a gun is a bargin but the £75 you've been quoted for just a basic service is a little steep to say the very least. Cheers.
  20. Hi, Jack. If the barrel's catching as you cock the gun and the trigger's not engaging reliably, sounds like the spring's broken. £75 to service a 95??????? FFS, it's 20 min. job and about £20 worth of gear. They are a doddle to work on. Stock off, trigger removed by tapping out the two retaining pins, unscrew the breach block from the cylinder, be careful as it's about to seperate 'cos if the spring is good, it'll have about 40mm of pre-load. The piston seals on HW springer's never normally fail, the breach seal's may get damaged but that's a 2 min job. Good luck, fella and l
  21. Yup, the lads are spot on, if a springer can't recoil in it's own happy way from shot to shot then you're pi**ing into the wind. If they can't do what they want, when they want in their own way then you're shot's will be in one place for one situation (rested on a bi-pod) then they'll be in another when you're not shooting unsuported from something solid. As has been said, shoot it off something soft and you'll be in with a good chance. Cheers.
  22. I've recently been useing that there Chairgun program and I'm very impressed with it. Very useful bit of techno babble.
  23. Hi, mate and welcome to THL. There's some good folks on here and we'll all try to help as best we can. I've not had any dealings with the SMK's that Zini's sugested and have heard mixed reports about them. Seems if you get a good one you're cool, if you don't you don't... I've used a King Ratty for a few years now for that kind of stuff and for what it is, I can't really fault it. Small, easy to use, quiet, accurate and it's never let me down. Co2 does have it's issue's though. If you use the search function on the forum, you'll get the guff on that. Good luck, fella and if you
  24. No probs, mate. Have a look at Titan spring's web site. They have a long list of springs on there and what spring will fit what gun. Just remembered that....... Some of my brain seems to still be working. Cheers.
