Nice one, fella! By the look of the ground, you'll have some good shooting there. Good luck! Cheers.

Hi, mate. I'm going back a very long time but my old (.22) shot best with RWS Superdomes and (wait for the boo's..) Superpoints. It also shot very well with Ely Wasps but the quality of those has gone to pot since I used them back in the 's and early 90's. Years, not guns! There's a lot of newer stuff come onto the market since then though and has been said many times before, not all guns even of the same type always shoot best with the same pellets. Try as many as you can and in general a good dome head's the best all rounder. Cheers.

andyfr1968 replied to venomviper's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I think someone got a milling machine for x-mas and has lots of free time on their hands!!!! Really though, that does look like a top class bit of kit. Sliding action a la FWB300 taget rifle, RWS54 and some sh1te old ASI, Statical I think. Hats off to whoever made it. Cheers. -

Great post, Zini. Alex........... FPMSL!!!!!!!! -
JSR have the WTC 1.5-5x20 (PX pre-set at 100 yards? Not ideal) listed at £89.99. I'd still go for their 2-7x32 that they list.... Cheers. Edit.... It really is a very nice, cheap, strong little scope. I used to use one on an FAC rated RWS52 that stuck out 32ft-lbs and broke a couple of big name scopes. The JSR worked very well for a good few years and it got a lot of use back then, never let me down. They've been selling it for a very long time. That one went when I sold that gun years back but I bought another a couple of years ago and it's still just as good.

Hi, mate. I'd go with Aaron's sugestion, I've used one of those for a few years now and I really can't fault it. I've a Simmons 1.5-5x32 as well and that's a nice little scope too. I prefer the JSR though. Cheers.

swarvoski scope probs?
andyfr1968 replied to farmboy99's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
If it's blured the whole time at all ranges, then something's not right. It's a proper quality bit of kit and should be crystal clear. There are places that can re-set the parallax, as Craig's said but I can't help you on that one. Sorry.... It may well be worth your while asking in the opitcs section on here. Maybe someone on there may know. Cheers. -
swarvoski scope probs?
andyfr1968 replied to farmboy99's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi, mate. Yes, what you've got there is really ment for C/F rifles and the PX and focus will be set for much longer ranges than we shoot at. You may get it better with the focus adjuster on the eye-piece but I think you may well strggle with that on an airgun. Best of luck with it. Cheers. -
I tried the HW100 but it just didn't feel 'right' for me. Lovely gun, to be sure (thanks, Davy), but I prefered the AA410 as it just fitted and felt perfect for me. I guess I'm lucky as I'm very happy with what I've got. Love my old HW90 but mainly use the 410. That said, I replaced an old love from many years ago when I got my hands on another Diana 52 last year (.177). I've taken that out a good few times over the past few weeks and I'd forgoten what a nice tool it is. I watched Zini's springer post and yeah, a good springer shot well is still a very useful tool. Cheers.

Air rifle spring
andyfr1968 replied to 1888andybhoy's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi, mate. Don't waste your time. You've still got the same spring, with the same amount of stored energy, shoving the same piston up the same cylinder to compress the same amount of air to push the same pellet out of the same barrel. It doesn't work. All your likely to do is make your gun so as the trigger won't engage 'cos the spring goes solid before the piston's gone back far enough.... Cheers. -
They're a lovely springer. I had one in .177 when they first came out. I feel really old now... As has been said, at least you can hold the lever back when you load the thing, not like my Diana 52. I wouldn't be too fussed wether it's a K or not, there's only a couple of inch's in it. I know some women who'd really argue the toss about 2" but for an airgun under most circumstances, it's no big deal. Cheers.

Hi, mate. If it's shooting too high, you'll need to shim the front mount, not the rear. Cheers. -
Air Arms s400/s410 silencers
andyfr1968 replied to farmerkev09's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi, mate. I've an HW one on mine and it's deffo a fair bit better than the AA one. You do need an adapter to take the UNF standard thread that the HW and most other mods use. I got mine from ebay for about a tenner. Cheers. -
I'm dredging my memories but I think it may well be a Gem. Cheers.

Trigger problem...
andyfr1968 replied to andyfr1968's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Thanks, mate. It's the second one I've had. I had one on ticket many moons ago and sold it. Always regreted it and found another one on here last year, I'd been after one for ages but they hardly ever come up second hand. I changed the spring probably 3 or 4 times on my old one and never had any issues, so this is doing my head in!! They're a very handy gun for those longer range shots...... Cheers. -
sorry me not wording i correctly i meant airgunners only go for headshots so how could pellet fragments contaminate meat. Ah. Sorry, Aaron, I see what you ment now.

Trigger problem...
andyfr1968 replied to andyfr1968's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Thanks for looking, mate. No, I've not got it sorted yet. I used it today for an hour or two's plinking and the gun's plenty useable now I've got used to it a bit more. I'll wait 'till the new guide arrives, then give it another go. At least I'm not relying on it as my main gun, I'm out tommorow and I'd have liked to have used it in the field but I'll take my 410c. I do like to take my old springers out sometimes and the .177 52 would've been my first choice for what I need to do but, hey ho.... I'll post the results when the new stuff comes. Cheers. -
i think it would leave us with even less power to play with because there are many springers out there that struggle 12 ft-lbs with lead pellets, all tin will be even lighter so ft-lbs goes down. Richard Not always, RB, the dynamic's I've been useing in my .20 90 are 12 grains and the .177's I use in my RWS52 tip in at 9.5. I think the .22's are 14... I see what you mean though if they were a conventional shape and size but these are a kind of bullet shape and they're pretty solid. Cheers.
-
Dear stalker's don't generaly go for head shots, they go for the heart-lung are. Cheers.
-
Dynamics have been around for a few years now and they're made from tin. I've been useing them for a couple of years now in my HW90 and they work very well. Cheers.
