  1. Put a pair of horns on the 2 black faced ones and they would look like buffalo. I must admit they frighten the crap out of me when I' m with the dog, I steer well clear of them.
  2. If you dont feed raw try it. I cant remember my dog ever having the shits in 4 years and I think feeding barf has a lot to do with that.
  3. That could well be the biggest load of bollocks I've ever read on here, and for this site thats saying something.
  4. I'm sure they'll be qeueing up on here to offer their permissions mate...
  5. There were 20 or 30 flying over a sewage works that borders one of my permissions today, but come summer there will be hundreds, For the last couple of years I've seen a couple of small hawks catching them that someone has told me are Hobbys. To be honest I wouldn't know how to distinguish one hawk from another, but I do love to spend a couple of hours on a nice sunny afternoon watching them, both sets of birds seem well matched against each other.,
  6. I bought a second hand berlingo last week and it's doing just over 40 to the gallon round town, I haven't done any motorway miles yet.
  7. It's still only young mate, just keep the training going. As has been said don't rollock it when it comes baxk, This was the hardest thing I had to learn with my dog, I know you will feel like stringing him up at times but shouting and ranting will only make the problem worse in my experience. If you can take it somewhere thats safe try hiding from him, my dog gets nervous if he can't see or hear me and will come looking.
  8. Probably just me being thick again mate, I'll never be brain of Britain material that's for sure..
  9. I must be in the minority then because I watched about 20 minutes of it last week and barely understood a word he said, bored me to f++k to be honest.
  10. For me this is a working mans sport so I'd hope to pay a working mans price, in other words enough to cover the breeders costs and maybe a touch more for the time and trouble he has taken with the litter If lurchers were the price of a lot of the pedigrees they'd become status symbols like the labradoodles etc. I just hope they stay off the radar of that type of person.
  11. Just noticed it's been asked in General talk.
  12. Just watching Countryside on the BBC and it's shown a van with 4 dogs and a dead deer stopped on Cannock Chase. Anyone know the result?
  13. Weve got 4 in a 4x4 coop and a run of around 10x4, though they are let out to mooch on the lawn every now and then.
  14. My only real shooting is pigeons and they've been sparse for me this year, but I'm at my happiest just mooching with the dog to be honest. I've just come back from a couple of hours with him and the gun and only fired one shot but would still have enjoyed it without the gun, In fact just lately I've had a great time with him and a catapult after squirrels in a local wood that I can't shoot.
  15. Good point - same with the dangly bits on dogs. Other point - my staffy x whippet stiil has her bits - she's seven, comes into season once a year - no bit deal. Leaving it unspayed is not an option as I keep my dogs in the house and it would be a nightmare with already having a dog. I take the point of leaving them to fully mature, maybe I'll just leave it and get another dog,
  16. I'm planning to get a pup later in the year and the missus says she would like it to be a bitch. I don't fancy having my dog done at 5 years old so was wondering what the opinions are on working bitches being spayed? I can't see that it should make a difference but want to be sure before I tell the wife I'll get a bitch.
  17. I walk a local wood and the edge of a farm that I have no permission on a few times each week, just mooching with the dog in the daytime. I'm probably an asset to whoever has permission because I've lost count of the number of times I've come across people with air rifles and such who see me and do a runner thinking I'm there legally. I reckon I'm good value at the cost of a few rabbits and squirrels each year.
  18. Much game on there? Where exactly is the place?
  19. I'd be really interested in seeing your underground running hounds mate, would they be beddy/ whippet/daschund?
  20. They pick up bad habits even quicker than good ones too.
  21. I think it was yesterdays match and Celtic lost 1-0, This is only a guess you understand because I seriously never understood a single word that was said other than peoples names, and most of them were foreign
  22. Ahh away and boil ye heed man :tongue2:
