  1. I suppose the depth of the warrens could influence things too. I rarely get a dig of more than a couple of feet so it's no problem to me that my hob can crack a rabbit in no time, but if the warrens were much deeper it would maybe be an advantage to have a fert that couldn't kill?
  2. Me too. I went out with a mate last year and we had to wait ages whenever his micro jill latched on to one, the rabbits pulled her all round the warren so we couldn't dig to her easily.
  3. I used to love watching the snooker too, because it was only on occasionally. Then it got to the stage where it was on constantly and it bored me to tears after a while.
  4. I'll try again http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/world-of-sport/youngster-scores-outrageous-rainbow-flick-wondergoal-121113733.html
  5. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/30779687 Fantastic goal, even more so considering he's only 15.
  6. I'm never going to catch loads off the land I run, but it would be nice to see the odd one occasionally You're all right though, it is better than sitting at home. I'd got me arse in me hand last night when I got back, back to normal now,
  7. Third time out on the lamp this season and what a waste of feckin time again. At 7.00 it was blowing a gale and raining, by 10.30 when I got out it was flat calm and not a cloud in the sky. I got one run and could have left the lamp off, I could see the dog 50 yards away without it. What with that and the noise made walking stubbles I think I'm going to leave it till the ploughs been out. My permissions haven't got huge numbers of rabbits and it's soul destroting walking for an hour or more and seing nowt.
  8. If you think that was harsh you're probably better off not posting to be honest, to me it just came across as a witty remark, especially with the icon following.
  9. I was going to say them but couldn't spell it ...
  10. It was Pip that told me..
  11. I was told it died of old age.....
  12. For Gods sake Andy shut up and let someone else get a word in!!!
  13. I know nothing about them but I can't believe how much those birds look like dinosaurs. What sort of height do they reach, they look huge in the photo.
  14. It sounds as though it's just a young dog and excitement is taking over, I wouldn't be too concerned As long as the dog returns just crouch down and give lots of fuss while you hold the rabbit, eventually the dog will lose interest and drop it. Just don't get involved in chasing it around the field or a tugging session. It will soon learn that the sooner it lets go the sooner it will have another one to catch.

He's always been my favorite, though Peter Green runs a close second imo,
  16. My favorite was Jeremiah Johnson with Robert Redford. I recently read a book about him and it's a true story, the guy actually declared war on an entire tribe of indians and killed over 300 in the course of 10 years or so, He must have made Rambo look gay. lol
  17. A pool full of fish, cat, 4 ferts and 2 chickens at the mo.
  18. slug pellets are usually blue too, had she been running anywhere other than her cage? Mine will eat insects if I'm giving them a run in the garden, I always pick up any snails or slugs before I let them out.
  19. Keep at it mate, my dogs 3 now and I've tried everything I can to get a retrieve out of him, He will pick up and bring it within 10 yards or so then I have to go to him, but yesterday I shot a pigeon while on a mooch and he presented it straight to hand, I was over the moon but I'm sure when we start lamping again it will be back to his old ways. The only thing I've done different in the last few weeks is buy him a squeaky toy and play with him a lot with that, he'll retrieve it in the house quite well. My lamping permissions don't have big numbers of rabbits and I think the fact that we don
  20. How old and more importanly how well trained is your lurcher? In my limited experience the pup will pick up the older dogs bad habits much easier than the good ones, and trying to train 2 dogs is a real pain in the arse unless you know your stuff. Another thing to consider is that if the dogs are nearly the same age you will eventually end up with 2 old dogs, whereas if you wait till the lurcher is say 5 years old you will always have one dog that's in its prime,
  21. Just looked at my profile and I've been a member since 2008 so I would be a bit miffed if I couldn't sell something on here just because I'm not as gobby as some . . Even though I haven't sold anything I've still donated because to me a fiver is not a lot for the enjoyment I get from the site.
  22. I fed mine a shot crow a couple of years ago and they ate it all but as I cleaned the cage there were 3 huge roundworms left, They were 3"-4"long and looked the same as dog worms, so I haven't given them crows since.
  23. Mate moddy is an extremely well known dog thief. If you live in the south and youve ever woken up to an empty kennel theres a 90% chance its because of that mothers c**t. Him and his mate yogi willet. If thats the case and as you say he's well known then he deserves all he gets then.
  24. Wouldn't it be better to have some sort of confirmation that the person is really a thief before everything goes all THL ? I'd be a bit wary of condemning someone on just one other persons word. Fair enough if there are a few saying the same thing but as Millet found out there are kids on here who would name an innocent man if they had a grudge.
