  1. Last gig until next year . Ozzy has retired several times (last album sells millions, tour sells out) but just comes back. I blame his manager / wife. Sabbath have also broke up a few times. For the last 15 or so years it hasn't been about the music with Ozzy, it's been about the money. Lemmy on the other hand lived the dream 'till the day he died. Someone mentioned Maiden ? I'd say if the real truth will ever be told I'd say they are the biggest and most successful of all time.
  2. Hasn't happened yet Goat. Fit not fat.
  3. What was unfortunate about that book was that it was nearly done by a publisher who would have done a much better job IMO. There was another terrierman here in Eire who had asked the publisher to do a book on the Irish terrier game. At the very same time Bluck asked me would I be in his book and I mentioned to the other terrierman that there's two Irish books in the pipeline. He dropped the other publisher and said we'd go with Bluck. In hindsight it was a big mistake.
  4. Yep, same as that. Always an extra pound or two on them in case they get left in overnight.
  5. The 6 Mile jog by the side of the bike doesent take long at all to be honest neil.flat lanes the distance is soon covered. Then the dogs are in the yard in the day. And either up the woods up the road or over the estate fields were the lurcher and bushing terrier have an hour or 2 bushing. bitch border x jrt has gone under a few times but can be called back out. But the pat is kept on the lead as the keeper is keen on the gun apparently so I don't want him to ground with a keeper about. Don't get me wrong. I'd much rather see terriers kept highly fit than those poor tykes that get stuck
  6. What lies are in it ? Do tell please ?
  7. What I've noticed over the years and it's only my opinion is that very, very fit terriers that are not getting much work can not only be a pain in the ass but a liability. They'll look for fights and bark when in the kennels. The one thing good honest workers need is work to keep them happy. If that's not always possible then they definitely need mental stimulation. Some ratting or bushing a few times a week will see a better happier terrier than one that's looking at the back wheel of a bike for an hour a day. As for threadmills and walkers etc. they have a different job and getting working
  8. Yep, I make mine from two large Coke bottles, catch a few minnows, when they're dead I put them under a bubble float on a size 12 hooked under the dorsal with the point facing the head. Let the current do the work. But, truth be told, I'd rather one on the fly than five on the minnow.
  9. Where's Gwalchmai gone ? He always had good posts and seemed like a good decent lad.
  10. Nothing you could have done so. Keeping jabs up to date or hunting rats etc. wouldn't have stopped it. Had a very good 5 year old bitch die from cancer a few years back and from the first sign 'till death was, like Blade, a few days. Their gameness doesn't allow them to show weakness, 'till it's to late.
  11. On my local trout river there's a lot of over hanging branches etc. which makes fly fishing difficult. If there's a bit of colour on the river the worm is good but if the water is clear a fresh minnow under a bubble float is lethal.
  12. I have a couple of masks done but to get a terriers mask done is just sick.
  13. Hope you get your dog back and justice too. IMO I wouldn't be advertising that they were coursing dogs that were stolen. A lot of stolen dogs get dumped and end up in dogs homes. If they see "coursing" they might just do what dogs homes do best. They'd return a pet the quickest. JMHO.
  14. We have a saying here in Ireland , "Ya can't kill a bad thing," Or is it a good thing ? f**k, I can't remember which, It's one of them and either ways FD best of luck.
  15. How so mate .Keeper near me snares all season ,rifles with night vision yet still we get a few digs after season .Terrier work will always have a place alongside any other control methods . Don't know about your neck of the woods FD but I've noticed over here when a new keeper moves in and goes flat out with the wires and the lamp when there's a few he can't get, then, he calls for the terrierman. Pisses me off. Ring the terrierman first.
  16. Wolfy, it's OK that your posts can be hard to read........big deal. You've been vouched for by a good lad, so we all trust you. BUT, unfortunately you have now shown yourself to be a big liar !!!!!!!!!!! LARGE AMOUNTS OF BEER...............LOL...........no English man is able for a large amount of beer....FFS.
  17. And also those who buy second hand dogs, no questions asked.
  18. do you no if the border x greyhound make any good workers Neil No, and I wont bullshit you but the Border they were out of wouldn't have been a tried and tested terrier. I used that cross as an example to what size they were. If a border across a greyhound would make 24" then IMO a black terrier from a large family should do to. Like I said, they were 10 months when I seen them.
  19. I know the lion had already taken a couple but it still would still take balls to stand your ground.
  20. No Land Rovers. no high powered scopes and probably no anti-biotics ,unless whiskeys an anti-biotic, LOL. The anti's could say f**k all if that's how it was still being carried out.
  21. https://youtu.be/vbhU76kUGMM?t=8 IMO this way was more sporting.
  22. If a small lurcher is your thing I can't see why folk use Bedlingtons when there's 15 inch lines of proper Fell types. The mother of my first ever lurcher was a black Fell X Whippet and she looked just like a black whippet. That meant my lurcher was 1/4 Fell and she was as racey as a Whippet, her father was 1/4 Collie 3/4 Greyhound. Sadly my pup died young. IMO a Fell terrier from a family of large types over a Greyhound would bring more to the table than a Beddy cross or even a Bull cross. I seen a litter of Border terrier X Greyhounds and at 10 months they were around 24 inches.
  23. Yesterday a lady asked me did I know any double entendre's ? So I gave her one !
