Looks a cracker, if I had the work for that brute I'd have him in a heartbeat...

I find most working dogs to be thieving b*****ds if given the opportunity, I had a dog that once ate a frozen loaf of bread during the night that I didn't know about. When I woke up the dog couldn't walk, took him to the vets and after spending hundreds on X-rays etc they told me that stomach had swollen to the point it was putting pressure on his spine. Wasn't pleasant cleaning up that dogs shit for the following week!!

Looks like I'll be taking my budgey out in September for a walk with the dogs then lads, .i doubt mr Blair specified which species of bird.

Not that I've looked into it in any depth, what your saying is you can flush a hare/fox/deer etc with as dog, if that animal gets injured during the 'flush' then it can be dispatched using the most humane method available, which could we'll be the dog? Is that right? Does there need to be a gun Present for the dog/s to flush too? I may be being thick, and as I've said I haven't really paid much attention but how is anyone actually being done for coursing any animal if that's the case? Not dispiriting this is right just asking?

Strange breed these politician's! How anyone they come to the conclusion that a 60lb lurcher pulling a fox is cruel, but a bird weighing 4-5lb doing the same isn't does make you wonder...

Wanted Wanted Lampin Dog Or Butch
Gareth12 replied to lurchermanx23's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
Perhaps it's the best dog he's ever had, there again it may be the only dog he's ever had....? -
If anywhere in uk is 'too far' to travel for a dog that could give 10+ years of loyal service then people are better off without a dog imo. Pups look nice. Got your work cut out there matey, look like their gonna be well looked after hope they get the homes they deserve.

Early Morning Wander With The Dogs

Great pictures ? -
quite possible it wasn't airguns, and perhaps I shouldn't be as quick to jump to conclusions just annoying to see and such a waste.

Permission been raped by 4x4 brigade and airguns, and quarry dead left in the cover. Not a lot I can do really...anyone else having this problem? Seems worse this year than I can remember, probably because of the decent weather ?

Keep at it, as with everything else you will reach a point where it "clicks" and he will begin to trust you... Keep us posted how he gets on, I've got a real soft spot for dogs that are given a chance after a bad start. In a lot of ways I think it gives the owner/handler even more of a sense of achievement when you see the dog becoming what it was bred to be against the odds

I smother it on the windows, or keep it in my pocket and gradually empty it down my trouser legas I walk up and down my street, that way nobody will know what I'm up to!! I watch too many films though!! In all seriousness I just chuck it down man hole

I had a similar pup years ago, don't think it had ever been out of the kennel when I had her at about 4 months of age. Nightmare for the first couple of months as the poor thing will be scared of everything, you, kids, and any ordinary noises. The pup will take a lot of work and patience but if you put the time in it will be worth it. I can honestly say that Ive never had as loyal a dog as that pup when she eventually reached maturity. Had her for 9 years and she was a pleasure to own in the end. Wouldn't leave my side and gave everything whatever I asked of her. It's almost as though the

I have a 11 week old pup am looking for opinions on whether or not to get her spayed and if so at what age? Have been advised by vet if I am going to get it done, to do it before 1st season? Anyone have experience on how this may affect drive and possible weight gain? I'm not going to breed from her so would prefer to not have the hassle of her coming into season but don't want to compromise at all in terms of her drive/working. Just looking for some pluses and negatives really.

Fuji I have a skinhead myself and have since I can remeber. What I said was that this is the image the anti's try to portray hinters as being ; 'white racist yobs with shaved heads and tattooed up to the eyeballs, who enjoy killing fury animals and have no respect for anything'. I was simply making a point that the post I commented on just helped promote this stereotype, and to be honest does no favours to our cause as has been stated.

Done 48% now. Not great but better than I expected to be honest. Let's see if Cameron has the minerals to stand by his word.

And that is the problem! I can't see why schools wouldn't allow ferrets, falconry, fishing or well behaved hound or lurcher, especially now with survival and bushcraft type programmes getting more popular on the television perhaps now is the ideal time if it's presented professionally and in the right way I can only see it being a positive. And at least that gives a starting point to work from.
