  1. As I said dogs don't make the grade sometimes, that's a fact ive had it myself and most people who keep dogs probably have. But in most cases if not al that can be put down to the training, entering or breeding. Buying a 10 month old, taking it out once then moving it on because it's crap?? What's that all about? Not to mention the condition the 8 month old was kept...poor mutt was a bag of bones, probably couldn't walk let alone run in that state.
  2. As per my above post I don't want any arguments on a forum, anything else you need from me you can always drop me a pm. Cheers
  3. Great thread, brilliant dogs a, great country....all in all I'm not jealous....honest!!
  4. My thoughts exactly. When seen in full flow it's impossible to fully appreciate the stresses these dogs put their bodies through. Even more amazing when you consider how some dogs work hard well into their teens...amazing animals these humble mutts.
  5. I've got no desire for a silly argument on a forum so the above will be my last post on this topic. Good luck.
  6. Ok, good luck changing your life and staying in....lol. I know you don't want advice, but If I were you I would take a long hard look in the mirror and think of the reasons why you wanna keep working dogs. Because in my opinion, everything you've just wrote above confirms what my opinions on young morons keeping lurchers and it certainly does no good for the breed or hunting! Get back to your drinking and partying and leave the dogs alone.
  7. Dog no 4 I believe this is?? And from what I can gather you been in the game a tomato season at best??
  8. Fxxxing barbed wire is a nightmare...should be banned that stuff. Sorry for your loss.
  9. Nothing better mate. Getting up early on a cold, misty morning in the middle of winter, put the dogs in the jeep and a day on the hills...heaven!
  10. Surely 'the hunting game' is all about picking a pup you like, then putting all your time and effort into that pup, building a bond so that the dog will do anything, even give its life if necessary to work for you. Granted some dogs just won't make the grade and that's a fact, but this fella has had more dogs in 6 months than I've had in my adult life, that cannot be coincidence! I don't see what joy is to be had from chopping and changing dogs after a matter of weeks because you don't like them?
  11. Nothing better than being out or your own with only your trusty mutt for company mate...I wouldn't do it any other way?
  12. Not a peddler....a moron is a more fitting title.
  13. Sure it be gone in a week. Some people just don't learn.
  14. That whippet x is my type of dog, being someone who prefers smaller dogs he looks right up my street. Lovely jacket, really cracking old dog that.
  15. Lovely pup. Great photos as usual ?
  16. Looking good mate. Like how the light coloured one is shaping up?
  17. Mine going through same phase. Brings a couple straight back then decides to play about. I put it down to being young and either getting bored or just wanting to play ?
  18. Stunning dog. Much racier than I would have imagined given the breeding?
  19. Very nice pups, I liked these from the start. I'm sure they will make cracking dogs lads all the best.
  20. This thread has made me happy. I Don't know you personally, never met you. But your posts are my favourite part of logging into this forum...welcome back mate
  21. Collie x grey beddy x grey. Thieving, lazy, nervous bitch. Would stand shivering in the rain and run home on her own whenever out local and she had enough. Nightmare of a dog and drove me mad, but I loved that dog and learned so much with her.
