Its not an unbelievable amount for an experienced lifter of 5 ft 10...................but for a novice who doesnt know how to push their hips through correctly a 530 lb deadlift at 6 ft 4 is remarkable core strength the likes of which ive seldom ever seen.......i wouldnt allow anybody of that height and weight who i knew had never lifted before to try to lift a 500+ lb barbell.......grip strength comes with age, unless he was strapped an 18 year old with that sort of grip strength alone is remarkable.

What a nice thing to read......it really doesnt matter where the motivation comes from.....as in,whatever gets someone up and active.....but its good to see the ol man motivated by the young lad its usually the other way round.....good luck to you Rugby players have rugby players physiques....bodybuilders have bodybuilders physiques......anybody can " get big " thats not difficult at all......but bodybuilding isnt just about getting big and impressive its about everything from symmetry to posture to condition.....steroids are not a one size fits all magic pill.
-
Most definately.........if a person lifting a barbell in their bedroom trains, eats and rests correctly......dedicates and applies themself correctly........they are every bit as much of a bodybuilder as your juiced up gym junkie.

Im not saying its bullshit mate i wouldnt be that ignorant or bad mannered........but i do find it hard to believe.....guys of 6 ft 4 at 14/15 stone are just not built for powerlifting......and at 18 years old he is nowhere near his true man strength hence competition lifting has categories up to under 23 sometimes under 25 in some federations.......under 18 at 93kg,s id be confident in saying those are British record lifts.........your sure your not getting kg,s mixed up with lb,s ......only you went from metric on his lifts to imperial on his bodyweight
-
Some of the really naive comments and quite frankly ludicrous advice thats been dished out re steroids in this thread are the perfect reason why folk wanting to educate themself on such matters really need to get themself into a gym to learn....if you wanted to make your car engine quicker you would go to a garage not take random opinions off strangers.......and car engines dont even effect your health !
-
How many times is it you have messaged me privately asking advice on lifting/diet ? The knob stretching works though
-
Thats national level powerlifting......18 years old......no experience/training......at 6 ft 4........i find that remarkable lifting, almost unbelievable.

Is The Apbt The True Bulldog Or A Terrier Cross?

I couldnt disagree more strongly......to say that ace calibre dogs such as gr ch Mayday or infact closer to home an ace calibre dog like gr ch Nikki was produced via " a lucky strike " to me is an insult......yes there will of course be luck involved in any performance breeding but breeding is about stacking the odds in your favour and if you think men who have dedicated years to producing good dogs did so on the toss of a coin......i couldnt agree. Now im not a professor of pedigrees doing a degree on genetics at the university of gamedogology...but even i know a Hybrid is a cross of two -
Its the correct theory but unfortunately 90% of people dont know what or why they are taking something ........my point is this is your health.......you......dont put it in someone elses hands.

Mash potato on a roast thats just wrong !

During many very deep conversations over the last year with a man ive respected throughout my years of lifting i came away with an analogy that has stuck with me. You can run a cheap scrap car on nitrous oxide and get great results until it breaks........but when you run a racing car on nitrous oxide and it doesnt break you do far more damage in the long run......when something breaks you can no longer do it.....but when something is too strong to break........................... I couldnt be such a hypocrite to sit here preaching to folk about something that i didnt listen to anybody

After a fairly thought provoking couple of years ive finally got my head around a couple of quotes on the subject. " what we,ve always wanted we dont always get.....but also what we,ve always wanted is not what we,ll always want " " we dont have to be better than everybody else,we just have to be better than we ever thought we could be " Take care with what you boys are doing

No their gear is top notch mate that cant be denied..........that said....if some of these young fighters were to put as much thought into their fight as they put into their shorts design and ring entrances we might not be having this conversation.....and they are the pros !!

I wouldnt quite put a family run sportswear company in the same " in - house " league as a world champion fighter would you.... even if they are out of some poncey London fashion college
-
He,s doing shorts for some of the local lads Kevin Mitchell,Tom Baker,Sam Mcness etc ......only small stuff to start off with but the shop he had back years ago was superb.....no i dont think he has a website yet he,s only been up and running a few months.......i just think its nice to keep things in - house so to speak.
-
Never mind about Suzi Wong it would be better supporting some of our old heroes who paved the way for young fighters.....my little ol mucker Charlie Magri is up and trading again he had a cracking sports shop back years ago....ok he,s not quite back to that level but he,ll get there.....and it beats working for the council thats for sure

Bird you are in the Midlands right ?.....dont go buying gloves off the internet mate they are important tools you wouldnt buy a pair of football boots without trying them on first would you.......go and see a chap called Vince at The Glove shop just outside the Bullring he,s been there donkeys years and is a nice and helpful old boy he,ll sort you out.....i can probably dig a number out if you need it but its a well known shop you shouldnt have too much trouble

Is The Apbt The True Bulldog Or A Terrier Cross?

some of the tight bred family lines of a.p.b.t. are almost their own breed, a breed within a breed if you will. so when you take two separate tight family's and cross them together it usally brings out the best in them (or worst as has already been stated). any tight family needs to be outcrossed every now and then or it will eventually kill itself... Yokel Ive said many times show me another breed of dog that can carry 25% of dogs from 5 generations before them and still only have 4 toes on each paw -

gnasher16 replied to DogFox123's topic in General Talk
A Lurcher may have 2/3/4/5 different breeds involved in its make up.....a bull terrier has 2......would you class the Apbt as a cross breed ?.......you could create a tight family gene pool within 4 or 5 generations but for it to consistently produce itself on totally unrelated dogs could take a lifetime......what you couldnt do over a lifetime though is just continually keep inbreeding so fresh blood must be brought in without risking losing what you already have hence breeders have been so selective about the cross they make trying to keep some form of shared heritage......if you look at cer -

If you breed a Siskin to a Goldfinch it produces a hybrid........but they are still Finches !.............what terminology would you prefer the everyday man to use instead ? -

The tighter the gene pool is the more reaction you can expect when it is crossed.........crossing 2 different breeds has nothing to do with hybrid vigour it is just the basic mongrelising of a dog.....yes it can produce good animals but not from a breeding point of view as there is absolutely no way of knowing how the genes have fallen and therefore no way of knowing how to continue your breeding program apart from a basic best to best basis ( genetic lottery ). Outcrossing 2 inbred family dogs will bring out the best ( and the worst ) of what both those families have to offer.......in oth -

Maybe im wording it wrong.....when i talk about quality of the dogs im not talking about Rover being a better dog than Charlie im talking about the game in general.....before the ban look at some of the silly match reports sent into the journal, look at the quality of some of the shows.........when the owner of the Red Lion could legally own a dog and dip his toes into a world he didnt really understand it was never going to make for top sport.........likewise since ownership has been relaxed again the game in this country is finished. Maybe im wording it wrong.....when i talk about q -
He should of played....you just have to wing it in those situations its all or nothing either way you get a pat on the back for trying.......years ago over Lloyds Park in Walthamstow i got roped into playing centre half in a full scale 11 a side jumpers for goalposts game.....i was plenty fit enough but im none too graceful with a ball at my feet.....and then i see a young Teddy Sheringham running at me .......he was still playing for Millwall at the time so thought i might have a bit of fun with him but he didnt seem to take it all that well ......he scored about 10 goals if i remember right
