The difference is a soldier has been personally and carefully selected by good experienced experts in the field....people we pay and trust to make those selections..........compared to someone who paid to do a training course. It was a simple scenario......a man was being threatened by a little man whos armed or a big man whos not armed who is the biggest threat to pull his gun on.

Thats exactly my point.....the 7 stone weakling wont need to pick up a brick like in our day......he has a gun in his pocket !......so is in effect pulling a gun on an unarmed man just because he felt threatened by a bigger man.

Call me old fashioned but if my house is burning down i want to see the fire brigade.....if my car breaks down i want to see a mechanic.......toothache = dentist etc While i accept in an emergency anyone who has the correct tool kit is a result........in general trained proven experts in their field on average do the job most efficiently and you like to think that in a developed world like we currently live in you can get the right man for the job......its simple common sense to me.

The " something is better than nothing " theory applies to many things in life..........thousands of everyday Joe's across Britain trained to fire a gun walking the streets 24/7 waiting for that one special moment is not something that theory applies to in my opinion.

Yes i am.....the clubs have sent out emails ( well ours has anyway ) urging English fans to sing Le Marseillaise at the game tomorrow............im sure that will cheer everyone up ! Eye to eye contact and i know a few proper old boy Norfolk farmers who will hold a gaze to see where a persons heart lays and they won't trust a person who'd look away or not look at them when speaking to them.They all say the eye's are the opening to a persons inner self and hide them and it'll be dark in there,it sounds funny but think about it and very true words they speak .. Couldnt agree more Fireman i wouldnt get all psychological about it but if you cant see the whites of a mans eyes how do you know whats going on in there.....its just basic decorum and awareness.....isnt it ?

Sounds perfectly sensible to allow people with a long and proven track record to carry a concealed weapon......its the day course Andy Mcnab wannabee,s im not so sure of. It doesn't have to be a day course It could be far more stringent than military weapon handling tests,there will be people who post on here much more competent than a lot of soldiers. I would like to know who the people on here are that are much more competent than soldiers ....... Must admit i found that a curious comment as well ....im sure theres some pretty competent footballers on here as well but im not sure a

Sounds perfectly fair to me,simpy out of common decency and respect surely you would want to uncover your face to have a conversation with someone.......in summer i,ll even remove a pair of sunglasses to talk to someone let alone a crash helmet !.......but thats got to apply across the board of course i wouldnt last 5 minutes as a shopkeeper id simply refuse to serve a woman with a burka if she,s not going to show me respect i,ll show her none either and she can f**k off out my shop.
