  1. What do they say....never gamble more than you can afford to lose........my bets are the only thing that keep me awake through some fights/matches etc In all seriousness if you,ve beaten an addiction mate then hats off to you
  2. Cant argue with that......at least you committed to your inkling Cushty and didnt just sit hinting and hoping then afterwards jump up from behind the wall like some people did....fair play and all that.
  3. I dont like to lose but it happens.......people who dont know how to lose rarely know how to win is an old saying i learned many years ago When it comes to betting though this isnt the first time ive been wrong and still come out in front
  4. It doesnt matter if he is better at frying a special chow mein than throwing a punch.......just as long as he picks up the greatest prize in sport
  5. Yeah and a 6ft 6 "Giant" has just dominated the sport for a decade so I don't get your point, if you're good enough you're big enough IMO. Yes but thats very close to " if your big enough your good enough " and thats dangerous for the sport......my point is that those giants of yesterday were rarely able to beat the best fighters out there......today they can dominate them, you think its because those giants today are better fighters i dont agree i think its simply because the level of fighters these days is so poor that the saying can now be changed to " a very average biggun will beat a good
  6. Max im just curious........how much did you win on this prediction of yours you being a betting man and all ?......me i thought Klitchko would knock him out early,so thats what i bet on......but i also thought if Fury could win it would be by a long drawn out points win.......so i bet on that as well.......you see people who are extremely competetive get used to winning and losing it becomes not so hard to admit when you get things wrong which every competetive person does. From the constant examples you give of the sickly ways you try to wriggle out of things rather than admit when your w
  7. Its great sometimes to just sit back and watch how predictable human nature can be A few weeks ago Klitchko was a useless idiot.....a big stiff robot..............now he will go down as an all time great
  8. no mate not a gypsy thing more of a fury thing . Check out billy joe Saunders and Andy Lee and see if they conduct theirselves in the same manner . Fury doing a bit of crowing at the moment and I'm sure they're fully aware that it gets up folks noses .He'll undo any good will created by them lads.Heavyweight champion is mostly all the non boxing fans know about. yeah for sure people will judge Saunders/Lee for being travellers no matter how well they carry themselves . What I will say is this the Fury cause controversy like I've never seen now love him or hate him people will watch him becaus
  9. What about the Cruiswerweight division? That is similarly unfair, 175lb to 200lb. If they did create a Super Heavyweight division than all the Heavyweights would just move up anyway. Wlad is around the same size has Primo Carnera, infact he's lighter. One ruled for a decade and one was Champion for a reason. The main reason is ability but also lack of top quality opponents, doesn't warrant a new division being created though IMO. So are you saying that you think its acceptable for a physical advantage to be the defining quality between 2 men fighting for the greatest prize in sport ?....f

  11. You have to look at the logic and purpose of what we are trying to achieve in a boxing match......since time began virtues such as strength/speed/durability/timing/toughness/guts/skill/power/intelligence/athleticsm/will to win etc etc all played their part......in a fight where 1 man can win even though he is far inferior to his opponents in many of those attributes you start to compromise on the essence of what sport is actually about.............or else why dont we do away with weight divisions altogether and lets see how Ray Robinson would fare against Ali or Mayweather would fare against D

  13. Those " giants " were 6 ft 5 or 6 fighting good fighters ................todays giants are far bigger and fighting far inferior fighters.
  14. Still havent found what im looking for i didnt think it would be this hard to be honest......looks like another thing to take off the xmas list !
  15. I will never understand this logic its like watching West Ham beat Preston North End 4 - 0 every week and then just presume they would do the same to Man Utd and Arsenal !.....Ali would have played with Tyson to the point where Tyson would of hit the referee, pulled a gun out or plain leaped over the top rope rather than face the humiliation of an Ali beating.......look how he reacted to a Holyfield battering and that wasnt half as bad as Ali would of embarrassed him.
  16. I totally agree.....to be able to class the 2 eras as the same sport let alone the same division is almost embarrassing.......ive said for many years there has to come a time when a super heavyweight division comes into professional boxing......to think that hypothetically Tyson Fury would more than likely beat Muhammed Ali surely emphasises my point. But the thing is giants have been in the sport since the beggining, it's just got to a stage where now their skills are sufficient enough to see them beat the smaller yet more skilled opponents. It's far from exciting or action filled but that's
  17. Whats the one with the orange face next to the Goldfinch ?
  18. Just wing it as you go like i did..........its no fun if theres not a chance you might die !
  19. 1 of them attached himself to Nigel for the prestige/notoriety that minding a world boxing champion brought when in reality he probably had more wealth than Benn did .....and the other 2 were completely unknown to Benn.
  20. I thought it was going to be Raheem Sterling or the Man Utd centre half Smalling that would be first to " come out " as a bandit .....something not right about them two i didnt think it would be Sturridge though. Klopp seems a good character i read an article that said he,s just got the players enjoying their football again...which usually helps.
  21. Personally i prefer to watch a fight between 2 heavyweights trying to hurt each other than 2 heavyweights desperate not to get hit by each other like last wknd.........we all like to see good efficient technical ability but the fights remembered through the ages are the slugfests thats just how it is.....and make no mistake about it Joshua/Whyte will be trying to hurt each other.
  22. " Break " at one time was universally excepted until American referees decided they would prefer to get in and start wrestling the fighters apart......very rarely did you see the old referee Harry Gibbs ever physically touch any fighter......a referee is not only there to see fair play but is also there to encourage a good fight....but still the basics must be adhered to in my opinion.
  23. To me the biggest derbies have to be the ones that are contested by the biggest clubs that stands to reason...............but biggest certainly doesnt mean best give me the spite and nastiness of a little West Ham/Millwall game played out once in a blue moon to the boring Manc/Liverpool or Arsenal/Spurs games that happen twice every year. For sheer atmosphere the Greeks or the Turks take some beating.
  24. I dont know why such an award exists in the first place......why anyone would be interested in what an athlete thinks or does away from their sport i,ll never understand.
  25. Ambrose always had some good qualities,a good businessman,smart,intelligent,generous,articulate,charismatic,funny..............but.......disloyal.........so the qualities dont matter.
